hahaha! thats the funniest thing i've heard all day!..getting told about OUR national fooball team BY AN AUSSIE!!
Owen has scored 13 goals this season, 8 in the premiership and 5 in europe, he also has an impeccible scoring record for Englad as well!
Your obviously talking such utter shite that your cock is still shafted firmly up a kangeroo's rectum!
My advice is to stick at what you do best at -cricket and swimming!

what i don't think you understand is that most people in England are born into football- it is life/culture everything many people talk about. so without sounding too sarcastic matey- your talking codshite!
i mentioned the kangeroo comment because your calling yourself the soocerroo's! i thouht it was funny!
but if you don't have a sence of humour (as well as a footballing brain) i'm sorry to hear it!
that is all
plus anyone (outside of Austrailia and Newcastle) who thinks shearer should still be an England striker should realise that the guy retired for a reason.
That reason was that his vision/speed/ball control was starting to drop/suffer due to age. I don't underestimate shearers montivation or footballing desire for one moment, but he left 2 years ago now, and there the reasons for it are obvious.
Owen is the best striker weve got, its the delivery to him which is Englands problem!
there is a sport forum. use it.
don't contaminate this place with talk of football.

Alan shearer can still knock them in- theres no question! but as a New and improving England team we need to look forward and not into the past to make us stronger as a side. Our problem as i see it is who partners Owen?..
Heskey- Big Oath who has more off days than good. Good battler and winner of the ball and thats all.
Scholes- Fits better into an attacking midlfield role than a striker
Fowler- Suffered through injury but has a proven past scoring record with owen in the past. problem is he's a similar type of player and the two could overlap in positional play and positions in the box.
Alan Smith - red blooded and tempremental. If he can improve on this then he's a good candidate for the future, too ineperienced at present at an England Level
Vassel- Again only capped 9 times and showed some good bursts and skills, so inexperienced.
and kevin philips- Prolific scorer at league level, hasn't been given any opportunity to show he can repeat this at full national level.
So Mr aussie, who would you have?
Me personally ehehehehe
Id probably have Smith in there for sure at the moment.
and to partner him hmmmm obviously shearer but hes retired probably Heskey but hes too inconsistent.
THeres no way they'll play Phillips, he couldnt get a game when he was best striker in premier league theres no way hes gonna get one.
They gotta look to blood young Rooney, an incredible prospect imo
So I guess Smith and Heskey. Whatever happened to Jeffers he was looking good at one stage.
I agree that Scholes shouldnt play striker.
But u must admit its up front where england is struggling as there just no stand out candidates.
its not just who's upfront its confidence as well!
Over the few years now its been the same story of inconsistency throughout our games. When England are on form they'r virtually unstoppable but they concede to many weak goals and fall apart from a lack of confidence.
Owen is undoubtable worthy of playing as an england striker, he has scored 19 timmes in 44 caps..thats nearly one in every 2 games! so how you can tel me that you'd prefer alan smith and heskey as a partnership is beyond my own understanding!
You get the ball to owen and 9 times out of 10 he delivers. the stats say it all.

I hope Seaman plays
Aussie chance of goal increases by 10 fold
Its a friendly so at the very best I'm saying 2-0 to england. We never play our hears out in friendlies :P

| Originally posted by Euphorica@AUS Ok maybe ure right, but i dont know to me owen needs to be given the ball on a plate to have any chance of scoring, ok i guess he got a real strikers goal poching instinct but apart from that nothing special. MAybe if fowler got off the crack he would be a liable option :P Anyway back to result. My heart says AUs 2-0 My Brain says England 3-1 |
