So then who's Noel?

Posted by Slylee on Dec-19-2002 16:34:

i discovered mom and dad were santa by keeping the "to and from" tags on my presents and then telling my mom to write "love santa" on a piece of paper so i could compare. she always tried to make her handwriting different but i could still tell it was hers!

Posted by DrUg_Tit0 on Dec-19-2002 16:44:

"Djed Mraz"
Although there is currently a political debate of what he should be called, because djed mraz is supposedly a comunist invention meaning grandfather frost, and a christian one is Djed Bozicnjak or christmas grandfather. Stupid things we argue about here...

And we have also a celebration of St. Nicholaus, from which derived american santa claus, but he comes on 6.12. and not on christmas.

Here we get presents from both of them!

My parents told me that santa was a fake and that i got presents from them. I'm pretty glad they did. That way I could tell them what I wanted, and not bother with writing to s.c.

Posted by J.L. on Dec-20-2002 05:27:

they are thinking of changing "merry christmas" to "happy holidays" and the "12 days of Christmas" to the "12 days of giving" here in Canada so no culture or religion will be offended....

shows how sad our government is sometimes..

Santa Claus ="Telapo" in Hungarian

Posted by benni on Dec-20-2002 12:23:

In Iceland there are 13 santa's

1. Stekkjastaur (SHEEP WORRIER)
2. Giljagaur (GULLY GAWK)
3. Stfur (STUBBY)
4. vrusleikir (SPOON LICKER)
5. Pottaskefill (POT LICKER)
6. Askasleikir (BOWL LICKER)
7. Huraskellir (DOOR SLAMMER)
8. Skyrgmur (SKYR GLUTTON)
8. Bjgnakrkir (SAUSAGE STEALER)
9. Gluggaggir (WINDOW PEEPER)
10. Gttaefur (DOOR SNIFFER)
11. Ketkrkur (MEAT HOOK)
12. Kertasnkir (CANDLE BEGGAR)

They singly come to town from the mountains (where they live)

The first one comes at the 12th des. and leaves 25th des.
The seconds comes at 13th des. and leaves 26th des.
and so on...

Their mother is named Grla and is a evil woman, and their daddy is named Leppali and is a bum.

They steal food and stuff from everyone because they are very poor..

here are the parents, Grla and Leppali (li means looser)

if you've been a bad kid, then Grla comes and throws you in her bag and climbs up the montains with you and then eats you.

These are stubby (nr 3) and Candle beggar (nr 12)

Since 'Santa Claus' was invented by coca cola, no i don't believe in him.

St Nicholas however is the legend everybody thinks brings presents. Unfortunatley I don't believe in that load of wank either

Since when has he ever helped us with our chistmas shopping?
