What do prominent DJs and Producers think about P2P and file sharing?

I'm curious what big-name DJs think about P2P file sharing and the fight with RIAA. Has anyone ran across any articles or quotes about what DJs and producers think about mp3 file swapping? I have my own opinions on it and the RIAA, but I'm curious what the artists think, if they do indeed know the facts.

Some, or maybe most, don't like it and some are just more or less neutral. For example: Airwave just hates it - he even had to postpone the release of his albom because of it...

I didnt really think the dance music community would mind it. since 90% of dance music only gets released on 12", and the average consumer doesnt buy records. They should think of it as a great promotional tool. It lets the average person hear a track. Then that person will go to see the DJ/Producer spin, which is where all the money in dance music is made anyway. I guess this wont work for people who are soley producers though.

I'm all about supporting the artists but then again why would I pay for a record (plus shipping to the states) based on a low quality 40 second sample off of Juno? I wouldn't. I, like many others, see mp3's as a promotional tool. I've spent over $1,000 the past few months on vinyl, do you think I would have done that without hearing it on mp3 first? Hell no!

Good points, many of which I've heard from others so far. I especially agree with $tylez, since I'm noticing more local DJs around here doing the same.
