BK - Revolution (Alphazone)

I've been having an argument with some friends.. what kind of music is that track considered to be?

also HiTech - Let There Be Light (JS16 Mix)..

your opinions?

Some would say Hard Trance, others would say Hi-NRG Trance, and they're not that far off each other.

I go with Hi-NRG Trance, seeing as it is on the Honeypot Label

Nu Nrg trance aka Hi-Nrg trance

simple as.

Posted by diamond_white on Dec-20-2002 19:44:

its fucking mental id say.....hi-nu nrg or what ever its called nowadays

Posted by Snarf on Dec-20-2002 19:54:

Trance! ...|Nuff said! lol

(I prob would say more Nu-NRG tho. Not ur usual Hard Trance is ir. But then again it is a remix of a hard house tune)

Many would say hard trance. But it doesn't have a melody type thing, which are found in all trance records. Therefore i would say hard house, and Nukleuz (the record label) agree, as they released it on Nukleuz blue (hard house), instead of Nukleuz green (Hard Trance).

Every other track of BK's has been hard house, perhaps its just because the track has crossed over into the mainstream that people suddenly consider it trance. Let us hard house peeps keep it!

That applies to the original anyway, i dont know that that remix sounds like, though i would think that alphazone is more trancy.

yeh but I'd say its a far cry from his recent productions. This is deffinatley Hard trance but not in the overdose/tracid way. I'd say more Frantic than anything therefore i'd say it was more nu nrg

Well since its been so overplayed by the likes of 'Dangerous'ly shit Dave pearce, and put on so many cheesy mix albums (on one they mixed it in with Flip & Fill - 'Dance With Somebody' and Jurgen Vries - The Theme - how?!?!), I am now willing to call it cheese and burn my 12".

/me comforts myself with some old non commercial stuff.

Its catchy

Just coz its overplayed doesn't make it cheese. Just 'commercial'

I know where ur coming from though

such a wikkid track!

Just downloaded that Alphazone remix and it's not as good as the original, nowhere near as hard.

Guyver Man on the Moon/serious sound are both quite like it. Just got man on the moon on 12" today infact. I read somewhere that Guyver is only 17 and made both tracks with Fruity Loops?

IMO its more Hard House, as the 'melody' is in the style of Hard House, but the beat is more trancy. Alphazone definatly produce Trance.

Hard House i think.

Nu NRG (by many) is a cross between Trance & Hardhouse so I guess
Hard house-styled 'melody' & bassline + Trancey sounds and presets = Nu NRG.

Nu NRG the artist does not produce Nu NRG BTW....

What I dont get, is why Nukleuz released this on blue...
I was an avid Nukleuz Purple supporter last year, purple being Hi-NRG Trance (Nick Sentience, Phil Reynolds, Tom Harding, etc), but they've hardly released anything on purple this year, and the purple releases have sucked arse.

Then again, most of Nuk's releases this year have sucked.

Also look out for BK's new choon with EJ Double (something like that) called 'Butterflies', not bad at all, but not Revolution.

Ben's a funny producer, I dont like his old stuff, loved his stuff from 2000 (any 'BK & Nick Sentience' track/remix) but he had a bit of a dry spell in 2001, with his remix of 'The Beginning' being the only thing I liked from him that year.

Oooh, also check out 'Rob Tissera - Burning (Guyver)' and 'Miss Behavin - Such a Good Feeling (Lee Haslam vs Guyver)' as these both kick major arse!!! AND 'Stimulant Djs vs Mark Kavanagh - Work It Out (original)' ownz me SO much

On the original release it was out on blue (The one with Original/DJ Energy mixes), when it was re-released recently on 3x 12" it got its own design, (each one got a different colour that didn't reflect the different lables).

Work It Out is extremely good, got the 12" on stimulant records.

Also,Mark Kavanagh is god!!!!
of Hard House,
In Ireland

Feel Ready is also good which is his latest track. Guyver is also good at the momment. DJ Spoke - Ignition has been brilliant for the last 6 months (hear it as intro for tidy.com). BK&Fergie - Hoovers & Horns was just hillarious. Lab4 Requiem is a brilliant hard trancer - get it!! Amadeus Mozart is a c*nt.
