Just finished listening to this mix.
Wow. Clean as bloody hell, high energy!
I love it when a DJ mixes and it is next to impossible to tell when he/she is trasitioning. I know song number 2 amd 6... the rest, wow. Repeat. This is a great harder set!
Ok i lied. since edit time is limited to .001 seconds after the original... i have to add a new post. his mixing is actually kinda bad. High NRG yes but there are alot of echo beats. He can catch em up and match em towards the end of the fades but the beginning of the fades are very sketchie
For the love of god can someone id the song that starts around 41:00??Iam dying to know what that song is.
thanks in advance

I have to back up Mark Oliver on this one. One of the problems with the booth at Viva is that there is to much low frequency bass in there from the huge sub that's in there. It is located directly behind the dj and I've been told by many djs that have played there that it is hard to pick up on the beat when there is soo much rumble in the background.
Regardless, this problem is going to be fixed shortly; I had a talk with the sound engineer last night. They are going to raise the frequency coming out of the bass box.
Other than that, it's an awesome mix. Lots of tracks I've never heard before.

not a bad mix not a great mix . just nothing special. not for the xmas trance addict mix anyway. theres far too few livesets posted anyway and its a real disappointment when one like this comes along. my own livesets are better. who the fuck is he anyway?

this is definately a dancing and not listening set
Mark Oliver needs to get some more practice on his beat mixing. His set was one of the worst I have heard for a so called pro DJ. He is consistantly off beat (that's where the echoes come in) on almost all of his mixes throughout his set, it gets somewhat better toward the end of the set, the track selction is OK, but his beat mixing ability is to be questioned. I know all DJ's can have a bad night, being one myself, I have had a few bad mixes here and there. As for the reply about the night being to loud and the speakers directly behind the DJ, well he should have got that straight before agreeing to spin there. The bass cabinets should never be directly behind any DJ, and if that were the case, the club manager or owner obviously has no idea of what the hell he is doing. I have spun a many of clubs and raves and would have never put myself in that situation. Needless to say his set was not worth posting, it should have been reviewed more closely to check for mixing quality before posting. I understand he is a local DJ, however I must say I was dissappointed in listening to his set.
Peace and keep spinning,
DJ MADNESS
I have to disagree with DJ Madness
Man you are a tool, why would anyone would spend so much time to find out so much about something so meaningless. You had to listen to thit mix at least twice to get so much details! How long did you practice to get that good??? Years, decades?? I hope you are extremely proud of your profound knowledge. Because 99.99999% of US simple don't care about the following information
""""""The bass cabinets should never be directly behind any DJ, and if that were the case, the club manager or owner obviously has no idea of what the hell he is doing""""""""
But thank you for sharing it with the rest of the world, because now simply we can go to a club worry about those important things you have mentioned. And seriosly who wants to worry about something like that. Just get a life f___- loser.
And why dont you send me some of your f___ music so I can be a judge of your talent
Rated 8.
Good mixing all-over, nice trackselsction. Starts out cool but gets a bit boring in the end IMO.
What is a review?
Under normal circumstances I would not even reply to a message as insignificant as the the one ezdude1970 left me. However, I believe a few things need to be clarified. First of all this is a review forum, nothing more nothing less. I listened to Mark Oliver's set as I was editing it in soundforge to burn to CD. I had never heard of him, but was sure that if his set was posted on TRANCEADDICT that he must be good. Being a DJ, I know when a mix is on or off beat, any DJ does. A trained ear knows the difference. As for ezdude1970 comments, yes I do have a lot of knowledge on this subject, and therefore have the right to review and post my opinions. A good mix is essential to a DJ who cares about the way he expresses himself to his listeners. Yes ezdude1970, it does matter to those of us know the business and what other people think of our sets. Ezdude1970 has made it clear that he obviously knows nothing of inner structure of being a DJ or the music created by one. He sounds like some nerdy little pencil pusher stuck behind a desk hating the world because he hates his job and wishes he could be something else. I know the kind of person you are, the one standing outside the DJ booth telling people "I KNOW THE DJ" instead of the "DJ" himself behind the tables making magic. Oh, be the way, I'll send you some of my music, send me $20 and you'll get a CD with a professional label and tracklist, otherwise go to anger management or kiss my ass.
