en-trance bullshit

So I drive up one hour from Port hope with Sketch and his girlfriend, take the GO train at pickering to union then take the transit to Corona Club. Get in and we meet the owner of the club. Turns out hes charging 10 bucks for everyone under the age of 19. Flyer says *NO COVER* *FREE PARTY* bullshit. on top of that, Sketch's gf didnt have id to say that she was 16 years of age so the guy wouldnt let her in. we offered to pay the 10 bucks but no. Im sure the party would've been good had there been no bullshit at the door. next time we arrange an event, the flyer should be accurate and the club managers should be aware of the details. had to travel another hour and a half home, with nothing accomplished. thx entrance. eso, sorry things didnt work out, looking forward to en-trance v 3.0

I'm sorry mate. Unfortunately it's a sad reality these days that club owners decide on something and don't even tell the promoters. I see it happen all too often these days. Oh well, hopefully Eso and company will agree on all details in a written contract for the next party in order to avoid such unpleasant surprises.

en-Trance 2 Review

Hey, just got ome, had to leave early, Tonya has to wake up early tomorrow, working hard....

well, saw Kid Lax spinning, wow, nice staff...

Corona looked pretty nice, sound was good too..

Met all the TA's, nice to meet you again guys. Happy Holidays.

I had a great time at en-Trance. I would have liked to actually meet more TA's, but it was cool enough dancing with all of you.

Pros: Great performances by the DJ's, the amazing TA vibe.

Cons: The surprise cover charge, and the neighbourhood!


Thanks to all of those who worked hard to make this happen, and the DJ's for coming out and playing some wicked tunes.

Just got back

I was there to catch part of Eso & Fuzion's sets - good stuff all around...

Lots of people there, I was impressed - and the vibe was ultra friendly.

Great job guys.

In responce to the first post: WoW, such bullshit, I was unpleasantly surprised. Had I known that he charges ppl underage, I would have used another piece of ID, bahhhh.

The bad:
Now, some things REALLY pissed me off. One of them being constant rubbing of the SAME sex on ME - leave me to dance, holy shit, is it THAT hard to find space on a half empty dancefloor?!

Another guy, pretty sure he was a TA, not sure who tho: If you roll, plz do it in moderation, you're not the only one on the dance floor. I mean, I can understand you want to have fun and all, it doesn't mean you have to walk on ppls feet 30+ times (not exaggerating). If you weren't rolling...I'll keep it light and say you very inconsiderate .

At some places sound quality was horrid, all you could hear was very loud screeching.

The good:
Deff. the DJs!!!! Props to all local talent that played (except Mecha and the first DJ, I was too late for those sets ) Kid Lax did a nice job warming me up, and Eso KILLED me on the dancefloor. Also during Eso's set I got very nice prizes, a T-SHIRT and a FREE CD that made my night!

The overall vibe in that place was great, some very nice looking girls.

Another thing, WTF was up with all the TATU videos, I couldn't believe my eyes for a second, whose idea was that?

Overall - a good time. Gonna go and listen to Eso's CD now .

holy shit, what a night.

with the beginning going all to HELL I was about to take my rotting leg and go home. Amazing support from DJ Eso, who payed for people since he felt so fucking bad for the sudden backstabbing pain of the owner charging under age ravers.

MECHA - started it so dark that I even had to change my shorts in the washroom. Totally crazy.

KID LAX - holy mother *()#@$&(#&$(*#&$ ripped the floor with the amazing tunage.. one of the best sets I've heard. we've talked to various people and everyone asked.. WHO THE FUCK WAS THAT.

ESO - two words - mmm MMM.. dropped bombs after bombs. and threw some cool shit off the dj booth. IT'S ALL THANKS TO THIS GUY THAT THIS WAS POSSIBLE!

FUZION - showed up in the last minutes and took it home with the hardcore trance. had everyone dancing. fucking banging.

after the night my leg survived, dancing from beginning till end, cursing the motherfuckin owner's name. Guy has to die.

Mad respect to Swamper who I never knew was there and helped us make this a succesful turnout.

to all the TA's way too MANY to name at this point in time.

i just got home and my ears are ringing like crazy...but it's all worth it because that was just an unbelievable night

aside from all the bullshit, that was probably the best night of 2002 for me

i don't think ive seen anyone party as hard as everyone was tonight

Just woke up ...

For those who had to pay and couldn't get in, or had trouble getting in, I'm trully sorry, I have no clue what to say but the arrangements were clear FREE and 16+, they only charge on sat, that's why we chose sundays. Once again I'm real sorry, and 404 science, you should've came back and hour later, that moran started to let everyone in for 5 bucks, after I offered someone a ride to get their id's.

Greatest thanks to Arek and Ziggy, great support and respect, without these guys the party wouldn't be the way it is.

Thanks to Mecha for droppig some sick dark stuff, wicked tunes, nice build up for the night.

Kid Lax, three words, you were amazing, I haven't heard such a good set from any headliner.

Fuzion thanks for comming, you threw some wicked hard banging tunes .. respect to that.

And thank you to all of you who showed up, you guys made the night, dancing all night, without you there this wouldn't be possible.

I don't know what was that with charges from ppl 16+. Weird, anyway, the night was wicked and stop complaining. The atmosphere was good, there lots of comfortables places to sit down, smoke, lazer, videos, and super DJ spinning. Cheap drinks (Orange Juice 3.50, other than that paid 27.50 for like 6 beers and shot of vodka), it was not packed, lotta fresh air, TV's, amazing VIBE with all the TA's. Hey I loved that night, IT WAS MADE FOR ME ON SUNDAY!!! THANK YOU PEOPLE!!!

Best part was the TUNES, we have great DJ's that spin for freee for us, i think we should apreciate it guys a lot. THANK YOU DJ's.

BTW, ESO did you record you'r set, i wish you did cos I wanna hear it...... Same to you KID LAX. Playlist was very melodic.

What can I say........

Amazing night overall.
It was an hour to spin with Eso, Kid Lax and Fusion.
I start spinning at 9 the club was empty at that
time, after 40 minutes it start feeling up with people just before Kid Lax took over.

Thanks to Arek and Ziggy for organizing, Armada, Hordash, Emaster and Trancekitten for spirit, and rest of the TA for support.
I felt really bad of what happend to you 404 Science but believe us it was not dj's and promoter's call, it was management call as Eso said before.

Anyways amazing vibe, nice people, hot girls....

First of all I feel really sorry for all the TAs that could not get in. It's not Eso's fault. I don't think there is anything wrong with charging 5 bucks for ppl under 19 (cause they ain''t drinking) but he should have told eso about this prior to the event and be clear on things. Once Again not Eso's Fault.

I thought the party was phenominal. I had asuch a blast got to meet all the wonderful TAs that attended (EXCEPT FOR SWAMPER THAT I ALWAYS FUCKIN MISS AT EVENTS!) Damn, I never get to meet him. I must makeit a mission for the next event

Definately a great time...

I'm sore as hell and my ears are ringing (I forgot my ear plugs )but it was worth it...

All the tOOns were amazing and big respect to all the DJs that spun.
I was going to leave just before DJ Fusion but I'm glad I didn't.

Some funny stuff that happened during the night:

1) Just who was that old guy at the end of the night? lol...
He looks like some 70+ guy who I thought was looking for his grandkid or something. It turns out that he come to check us out and started doing this Ryu fireball stance.

2) I can't remember who it was, but they threw the Santa hat up to the DJ and it landed right on the record that was playing...hahahaha...classic...

3) DJ Eso trying to disconnect some equipment to make room for DJ Fusion's stuff and Seven Cities being bumped, jarred, and remixed on the spot...

They may sound horrid but I thought that it's the little stuff like that that make it more ours.
It was natural and fun and I enjoyed every second.

Nice to see all the friendly faces again and hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year!!!!

My friend and I are both 18, we entered with no ID check, and did not get asked for any money.
We came at around 10:00, sorry mecha I missed your set.

But for the other DJs very nice, especially fuzion, nice hard Trance at the end.

Thanks to all the TAs for making the night possible, especially Hordash for being crazzyy throughout the whole night.

What can I say? I was dancing the whole time, I guess that means the night was good..

o, another thing, all the "ginos" sitting around watching made me feel uncomforatable,... anyone else feel that? I felt like I was in a real nightclub, where you have the praying mantises hitting on under aged girls...was a bit disgusting... just my opinion...

i had a really great time with all the TAs. It was one of the best vibes ever. It was really nice meeting you all and chillin with ya. you dont really get to talk much at events, so it was a nice change.

I saw that old guy too. Elmo-On-XTC tried to take a pic of him but he got pretty mad and violent. that guy was hilarious, he kept jumping around and making funny faces, looking all into the music.

Az, Iris: sorry i didnt burn with you after but im not hardcore like you guys and dont like burning in the middle of the street next time..

and about the door bullshit, all i can say is im pretty sure im never going to corona night club again. the only reason i was allowed in was because of RJ talking to the guy and convincing him to let me in. I don't really care about the $10, although it would have been nice to pay $5 but the ID thing was pretty stupid. If ID was required it should have been told before hand.

but that was NO ONE'S fault except for the club owners, so thank you arek and company for making a sick night which im sure you didnt get any money for. I would have rather the $10 go to you than the stupid club owners.

Just got up. The nice long trek from Scarborough Town Centre all the way to Corona was not as fun as I hoped :P. $10 cover charge for a free event kinda threw me off ...but it didn't affect the night at all! Music was awseme! TAs were awseme, met you guys for the first time

Now after the club was a different story...took the streetcar up to young with a couple TAs, and searched for a 24/7 coffee shop....but there were no coffee shops!!! so we spent an hour of so in 'The Big Slice' with their greece covered pizza till 5am, then kicked outta there and found a cozy little doorway beside the subway station...

anyway finally got home in one piece and slept. wish I didn't have to go to work today oh well...

yes. the "coffee shop hangout" after entrance didnt work out as expected as we couldnt find a damn coffee shop!! only pussy starbucks that closes

enTrance was awesome! Got there at about 11:25 or so I think. Just froze my ass off getting there though. It was just shocking at the number of people there! Wooooooo. Hopefully enTrance will be a recurring thing. The music was wicked, the TA's were even better. Everything was just cool, except for the door thing. Only thing that was bleh, was I missed Stylez and Waxen! Too bad you couldn't stay a little more, been sooooooo long since I've seen you! Thanks to Art for the vinyl. Now I just need decks...heheheh.
P.S Liam, you get headache's at the WORST possible times man.
