also logic bomb too
and just about everyone else in a way cause this was the year where i really got into trance and discovered all the old songs too.

producers hmmmmm I would have to say Hiver and hammer. A vast array of remixes each and every one more powerful than the other. I also enjoyed alot of Hybrid's work Conjure one ft sinead oconnor - Tears from the moon (Hybrid's twisted on the terrace mix)

Impossible to choose just one, but my favourites this year are as followed ps. My tastes are extremely wide...so if u dunno some of the names, well that's just poo

In no particular order:

James Holden
Sasha
Junkie XL
Lemon 8
Flutlicht
Charlie May
Nookie
Makoto <--- probably top 3 producer...maaaddd jazzy atmospheric shake ur fucken ass drum n bass...my god!
Hybrid (Mike Truman)
Omid/16B
PFM

That is all....

Actually...add Airwave to that list, he's done some pretty cool shit and his album 'Believe' is phat, altho most of those tunes are from 2000/2001.

I guess Armin can get an honourable mention, altho the majority of his productions are remarkably similar

the name fits the track so well

Posted this on another forum, so I figured I'd just copy and paste it here (because I'm lazy and can't be bothered writing it again):

quote:
Went with Lemon 8 simply because he's been able to produce prog-anthem after prog-anthem all year. Every release of his has been quality, and I'd be suprised if there haven't been at least a dozen mixes released this year with his name on them (not to mention his mix album).

Noel Sanger also made a late run with a quick flurry of quality releases in the last few months of the year, James Holden continued his good form of the past couple of years with a couple of good LP's (at least) and a few good remixes to boot this year and guys such as Shmuel Flash and Yunus Guvenen have both made an instanct impact on the scene with several top releases in their first year of notoriety.

Having said that, though, Lemon 8 was the clear winner, both for the over-all quality of his productions and the sheer number that he released.

(If you don't like progressive music, then this probably won't mean much to you.)

Harry Lemon it is then.

I have no idea, I can't choose a best producer, cause I havent heard most of the tracks you have posted in here.

Posted by Pointy on Dec-26-2002 09:07:

Spend more time in the record store which you frequent, get to know the guys there n when you go in...just chill for 1 or 2 hours listening to all the new shit, that's what i've done at Rhythm & Soul and was in there today again listening to everything new and a bit of old Easiest way to keep up with it all, and the people running the store should know their shit so just ask em all the questions you want..heheh, just make sure you buy a fair bit at the end of it all, as they might get kinda pissed off

Posted by Philby on Dec-26-2002 10:26:

i'd like to add hiver and hammer to the list, im loving some of their remixes and the liveset from radio oslo too
