no luck finding vinyls

i have no luck finding the vinyls i want, i've been to many stores and sites looking for some pretty popular vinyls (which is i'm sure why all the sites say "out of stock" for the past quite a while)
i've been searching for vinyls like
Marc Aurel - Running (dumonde remix)
Strange World - Push (2000 Remake)
Space Brothers - Everywhere I Go (pvd rework preferably)
and many of the vinyls PVD spun on his Rosenmontags set (i love that set)

do i have any hope of finding them? any advice other than to just keep checking the sites?

Have you looked at:

www.juno.co.uk
www.only-djs.com
www.chemical-records.co.uk

Found at juno:
DJ MARC AUREL: Running (Trigger Germany) (MP3) - Trance
12": Running (Dominator mix, Geezmo mix, acapella, Silent Giants mix, Dumonde instrumental)

PUSH: Strange World (2000 remake) (Inferno) (MP3) - Trance
12": Strange World (2000 remake)/The Legacy (Svenson & Gielen mix) (TFERN 49)

If you are really keen about the everywhere I go vinyl it was at my local shop a week ago. I can check tomorrow when I head down if its the pvd mix. then send it to you.

sure everyone likes to have certain tunes in their record bags
but whenever i go out shopping i never really look for a certain track
actually i'm usually found sifting through unlabeled white labels
i've found tons of hidden gems in there
and it's always a track that no one has heard of, or a remix that no one knows about
and no other dj in my area has them

i suggest instead of looking for tracks that have been played out, keep your eyes and ears open to the options you can choose

a friend told me once
"when you go out record shopping, don't bother with the records you know you can pick up later at any time, always look for those certain tracks you've never heard before or most likely you will never see on the rack again."

it's all about finding those little gems that no one else is playing

I do have to agree with DJ_Shockwav. It's your job to find [good] music that nobody else has and hammer it. You play tunes that make people go "WHAT WAS THAT!" and promoters/club owners notice.

Posted by mikefasssy on Dec-26-2002 05:49:

thats if you play out, if you just sit in your bedroom then get whatever.

i'd rather not be "another" pvd or whoever
i want to be me
develop my own sound
offer club owners/promoters something that 50 bajillion wannabes can't
make your sound unique
everyone wants to be a dj nowadays, differenciate yourself from everyone else
once you do that, you make yourself in demand

some of your first post i agree with, but i just say play what you like
or else what is the point in doing it

Posted by Dj Dizzy on Dec-26-2002 16:55:

i'm not trying to be "another" pvd, i didnt mean i want his whole set, but there are like 5-6 vinyls off that set that i just want for myself because i want to play them for myself at home.

if i was to play at a venue or for a crowd (i dont think i'm ready for that yet) then i would definately try my best to play my own taste without biting on other dj's, this is strictly for my living room, there's a few that just blow me away that i'm dying to own

and thanks for the links on the sites i tried a handful of others and couldnt find any of them

Posted by Tony Morello on Dec-26-2002 20:43:

well obviously play what makes you feel good
but i was just saying
if you want to play trance, there's more trance out there than what armin, pvd and everyone else is playing

go out and search for those tracks that make people go "whoa, what was that?"

it's not going to do you any good when half of your record bag is useless when a dj before you plays tracks you were going to play

that's the main reason why i don't bother searching for big names
then i'm 99% sure that when it comes time for my set, i won't have to worry about not playing a certain track because a dj who played before me already played it

Yeah i have copys of "Space Brothers - Everywhere I Go (Paul van Dyk remix)" and "Solid Sleep - Club Attack (Paul van Dyk TPOD remix)" "Trancesetters - Saga" and "Ferry Corsten - Punk" but i dont think id put more than 2 of them in a set together i meen i might play one and then mix the other one at the end but i just have em for my personal listening pleasure ....Im a die hard PvD fan been that way since i was like 11 but i dont want to be him(would be cool to meet him) but i want to be me... make a name for myself do my own thing you know........i WANT to make it my job to be a DJ but that meens i have to act profesional and by the time i can spinn in clubs no one would want to hear them so keep up with the new shit dont look back (though nuthin wrong with calssics ...Grease 2000..Cream...For An Angel) but just do your own thing.

LOL

The PvD 're-work' of Space Brothers- Everywhere I go doesn't exist buddy Not on vinyl anyways ;-)

Push- Strange World (2000 remake) is common,,, I picked up a second copy of this at Virgin before I left.
