Ages and sex

I think you should be able to view peoples ages in there profiles, if they want you too. There are a lot of youngsters on here..not that being young is bad..but i think it would be good to see the ages of people sending you private messages and stuff.

Also to be able to see if they are male or female would be cool too..you cant always tell by the name or avatar.

these points been raised many times, and i think it should be made public information, (prolly best to be included in the profile bit)but only if the person agrees to fill it in on their profile.

I agree with Coup. You might want to check the other threads on this issue, so you'll know the admin's position about it and other ideas that might have been given already

yea it wouldnt hurt. It could be like the email option... ie. You can choose whether or not people hav access to it or not.

I have thought numerous people were girls, either becuase of the avatars or their names.

DJ Dawn, prolly one of the biggest DJs that posts here, i thought was a girl because of his name (dawn is a girls name here)

age would be good to know too.

TrancEaddict is not and never will be a love matching site,who cares about age and gender.

Just because one is a 16 year old female (not saying that i am)trance massive member and has vast knowledge in the scene, should such a persons say go discounted!?!

I belive if age was added to the profile's it will only create and instergate people to flame and be flamed thus the/a topic at hand wont recive the 100% attention it may require.

I could be a 25year old male or i could very well be a 16 year old female, just because i am should my opions not count!?
Judgeing intelligence by age or gender is out of the question <--this should go without saying.

If i was a gurl i wouldnt want to be picked up on a music influenced site, after all the reason why we are here is our love for music.....some might say other wise!. In a case when turtle doves do fly im sure the P.M function works fine and would be of great use.

If age/gender was added such harassment might very well be posible. Thats exactly why i dont want such a feature.

If this 72 year old male knows more about music and is willing to share his vast knowledge such a person is more than welcome to TrancEaddict.

turtle doves do fly...and yes this site is about music, but a lot of the threads are not about music, so i would like to know who and how old are the people responding when i post my replies.

You can check these three threads, some TAs gave their age and sometimes their genre. Make a summary, and creat a new thread by asking to all the TAs their age or their genre, or to complete what they already gave in these three threads.

you said you want to know a respondents age when you post.....you still havent given a valid reason as to why!....its always "i would like to know how old blah blah blah...."

oK an age feature is fine as long as, its grouped i.e 14-17 , 18-21, 22-25 ect ect.

first of all it does make a difference about your age when u reply to a thread, if someone is bring up topics from the past and a 16 year old is throwing in their 2 cents, i want to be sure that the person was at least out of diapers when the event occured and knows first hand what the topic is about, not something they overheard from someone older. also, although im only 24, i have 8 years life experience more than a 16 year old, and im not saying im more intelligent than a 16 year old, im saying im more experienced...most (not all) 16 year olds still live under mommy's and daddy's roof and dont have the same worries and fears of someone my age. also it would be interesting to see if certain age groups or genders all feel the same way on certain topics. if we are having a discussion about how "going to war with iraq is going to raise the price of gasoline 2 dollars"...a 16 year old isnt going to care because they dont have to buy gas. as for someone being 45 on this post, if they are in a "who's hotter..mary kate or ashely olsen" then i know that person is a freak and not to take anything they say seriously.

yes people can lie about their age, but not everyone will.
