Human Cloning, Right or Wrong?
In light of an article on the BBC Website, in which a group of U.S scientists claim they have successfully cloned a human baby, im just curious to know other peoples comments / thoughts on this.
Personally i think this is a serious mistake if it can be proved to be true, something has always told me, and alot of people i know that screwing wiv genetics, and nature in this way could have dire conciquences. Read the full story Here

I think it is good that we have the knowledge to do this but it is not necessary to use. Kinda like nuclear weapons technology. Calling the first baby "Eve" though was not right because it's going to cause alot of controversy and upset religious extremists. I am an Atheist so it does not bother me.
Can we get this moved the the politics forum? I think it belongs there. I'll give a thorough response later.

rofl how freaky is it for the woman
to have herself come out of her
i couldnt hav said it any better than TeKnoHe@d2025. Its great that we hav the ability to do this, but i cant see the need to actually carry it out. But this is just the first step. Hopefully this will lead to just being able to clone Organs, and even blood, which will save millions in the future..
Tis all good basically
I think its wrong for the baby, because you bascially screw them into a short life. In cloned animals, the DNA's "clock" has already gotten some time on it. Most all cloned animals live shorter than average lives. I dont think thats fair to a cloned child.
Besides, whats the fucking point? Id rather not be a clone of someone else. I dont want a clone of myself. I am me, and noone else is. I like it that way

I'm not concerned with the ethics of it. For me the question is whether it'll be usefull or not. Say we cloned humans and everyone agreed with it.
What then?
I think it might be dangerous in future - for creating artificial intellect and dirrent monsters/biorobots
I think cloning people is not a bad thing...it's just a step into da future
so CLONE MEEEEEEEEEE

They should have named it "Jesus and Mary's Love Child" that would have sparked some controversy.
Uhm.... i don't know.. i'm on the fence on this one, i want to see what some other people have to say first.
please move this to the politics forum, it will do well over there.

like other people said:
it's great that we can do it, but cloning a WHOLE human is pointless. I think cloning organs and blood would be much more benficial.
but this whole human cloning thing (if its not a hoax) is a sure sign of an evolving world.
good
if u could clone more of ayumi hamasaki or britney spears...
