Pro Tools
What makes it so good? is it rly worth that money ?
tnx
The confusion around Pro Tools arises from a lack of understanding of the different versions and numerous hardware units available. For the full low-down, check www.digidesign.com
A Pro Tools system does not have to be expensive, but the top of the range ones naturally are. You get what you pay for.
If your studio needs the capabilities of a Pro Tools HD system with a couple of 192 I/O units (and you'd know if that was the case) then you'd be well into the professional league and expecting to pay the corresponding prices.
its ideally used for recording live musicians and the like....it hasnt got a lot of midi-eseque support
not good as a start off program for trance...its more of a bad assed audio editor / multitrack recorder kind of thing and you need to buy hardware in/out boxes to run it proper
if you want a top end prog to do trance on....get logic platinum 5.2
pro tools ownz j00!!!

actually
it is better reserved for recording studios and the like
nothing beats this prog for radio production
it can be used in music production, however, there are other programs out there that are more suited
ok protools if u want to used it u have to have the hardware digi001 which is a audio interface
protools is best for audio ....not midi
so like some one said if u are recording a band that plays live protools the is the anwer
protools dont soport VST it has its own standard called TDM
the plugings are nice
even access virus TDM plugiing is awayable
note
Digi 002 has been released but 2200$$
firewire and can be used as a standalone
armin uses pro tools dont he? hes a trance producer and a very good one at that :P so surely if hes choosing to use protools in his studio, its got to be the best for trance?
protools sux for midi sequesening
and i dout that he uses protools
most trance is synths and drum mashines
and u use midi
i know for a fact that puff daddy uses protools
