Mecca Cola to finance Palestinian charity works

A new soft drink under the name Mecca Cola will be launched in France in November, with part of the profit to be used for financing the Palestinian charity (Purely Humanitarian), according to the owner of the project Tawfiq Mathlouthi.

Mathlouthi, a director of the Mediterranean private radio, inspired his project from the Iranian drink project Zamzam Cola, which has been a great success in Iran and several Arab states.

He said "I have registered the trade mark in August, and made contacts with several industrialists in France, Belgium and Holland." He added that this drink will be in the market in the month of Ramadan (i.e. November).

The new drink will be marketed in bottles of 1.5 liters. Al-Mathlouthi said that 10 percent of the profits will be dedicated for humanitarian Palestinian aid for children, education and preserving the heritage.

i am all for humanitarian aid, i hope it helps out the needy and actually provides comfort to the lives of those who are suffering. i just hope this wont be another one of those "african" humanitarian aids, where the money goes to the people in control and never trickles down to those deserving of. suxor that the palestinian authority cant provide it for its own people. the acts of the PLO do not show to me they truly care about whats best for their own people.

I'd call it "Yasser Cola', I'd think it could be a big 'blast'.

But 10% to chairty, that is like saying I am avoiding taxes and getting publicity for free too.. wow, what a great deal.
