Why do train have to strike on nye

Weve gotta pay �20.00 to get into town and it would usually cost �9.00

i had a similar problem a week ago monday, had rang up train fone line and booked tickets to go form leeds to stafford to visit me parents, arranged to collec them at leeds station, only to find out when i got there there was a train strike and they hadnt bothered to tell the people who do phone bookings, luckally i got a refund and my dad had to doa 300 mile round trip to come collect me at 2 in the morning! dam arriva trains
