Dear DJ Tiesto...
Here's the idea I mentioned in another thread
This isn't serious or anything, but anyways...
What do y'all think of this? If you're in the same camp, please do add.
Dear DJ Tiesto,
We are sorry that we can't make it to your New Years Eve gig.
We love you and will always support you whenever we can.
We were excited when you talked about wanting to be in New York on New Years Eve. We were also excited when you were confirmed to play here then. However, that all changed when we heard about the ticket prices.
The starting price is $125 (which was originally $250) is a little too much for most of us. Clubbing in New York City on any given night is usually quite expensive. It's great that there is so much that goes on here almost every week, but it is draining on financial resources. Maybe the price would be worthwhile if it included a chance to see the ball drop without having to deal with the crowd or wait in the cold. There is that option, but that comes at a price of $450, and since the club is on the basement level, we're not sure how it even would be possible to see the ball drop from there.
Also, I'm sure you've heard much about Times Square on New Years Eve. However, when you live here, your view changes. It is a very fun experience to be there for the first time, but after that, fighting through the crowds to get from one place to another gets tiring.
Furthermore, we have a better time with you when the crowd truly knows and appreciates your music. You probably feel the same. Perhaps we are among the few who are crazy enough to pay the "regular" prices and stay up so late on any other night. As you could imagine, NYC is full of tourists especially at this time of the year. We have heard that most of the people who have bought tickets are of this type. We do applaud you for bringing the music to them though.
We do hope that you have a great time, and that you rock the house. We will be there for you the next time you come on a "regular" night here. We also hope you come back for another New Years Eve, and that it will be more affordable to see you then.
Sincerely,
Members of the NY TA crew
Nice letter, you took the words right out of my mouth. Besides what some of my friends said I really like his set Dec 18th at roxy. He played all the tracks I wanted to heer plus a bunch of new onces that I didnt know. His mixing was as off as some of us siad and when I walked out of Tiesto I said to myself "PVD is going to have to work his ass off to top this set"
...... heheh if I only knew what was to come

i would die!!!!
everything you love, in one set. would it then be worth 125$?? i say yes! cause i spent 140$ at pvd at roxy, and it was more than worth it! i'm just asking a hypothetical question here. how much would you pay for a 6 hour set of YOUR favorite songs played by a superstar DJ? i'd probably pay 300$ and that should include either open bar till i feel nice enough or something. but anyway, i'm done rambling for now.
buy a decent amp, tables and play those songs yourself.. who cares if U or your fav. DJ plays them..
Sorry if someone else pointed this out...
I saw info on another board about the scheduled set times
Tiesto was doing just 3 hours, from 12:30 am to 3:30 am, while Liam Kennedy, opened and closed, playing the rest of the time (8 pm - 12:30 am, 3:30 am - 10 am).
btw, not much trance was played at Arc, but the party rocked! I'm sure there will be more about that in other threads.
