Some sorta "Love" Email virus????
basically i keep on getting sent these annoying little emails with the subject being something associated with "love" or wanting u to "Check them out" They are all 46kb in size and are usually from an unknown sender. I thought it was some sorta junk mail, but then my friend called me up to say thanks for the screensaver, but it didn't work. It then dawned on me that it got AUTOMATICALLY sent to her.
More info on this is that the file is called love.scr, it is a screensaver, but if u save it on your comp and try and work it, it doesnt work. I've sent the error reports to microsoft, hopefully they will sort it out. I think that if u get something like this you should delete it straight off, as i think that it gets sent to everyone in your address book if u either a) open the message to read it, or b) save it on your comp.
Also the McAfee virus scanner doesn't come up with anything either, so it might be just an annoying little bug , but I'd thought i'd warn u all.
Cheers mucker.
Although u might b better off giving your hard drive a format. Just to get rid of what ever shit the virus is.
Yeah ive had that one sent to me twice, norton flagged it up as a virus, get norton 2003 you get updates for a year whether u get it from a shop or some dodgy copy..

Time to backup mp3s, format, get a virus scanner for future use, reinstall everything
i had been deleting them for like the past few days! But curiosity got the better of me, and now i'm fucking pisseD!
Who ever writes these annoying fucking worms should be tied to a chair in the middle of a dusty dark garage and have holes drilled in there knee caps.

similar thing happened to me. I deleted the email, but later got an undelivered message report. I couldnt think for the life of me what it mite be, so i clicked it. I dont no what the hell i was thinking doing this, as i shud of realised that it was an undelivered message report of a virus that had been sent to me, which just happened to hav another virus in it (or summing liek that)... doh! luckily i hav norton running 24/7 which picked it up instantly, and deleted that mofo.. rarrr and then i released a motherload of viruses back to the other guy.. hrhr.. But yea norton is an amazing piece of software, unlike the crap that hotmail uses for instance.
it's the 'i love you' virus again just in a slighty different form.
best advice is to never open a .scr file sent to u in email
and for that matter .vbs or .vbs.scr
this virus once opened gets into your email address book and will send itself to everyone in your address book, thats how it spread so quickly last time.
oh and if u run outlook or outlook express DO NOT use the preveiw window, cos it opens the email and in some cases opens the virus too.
i've had 9 emails from that 'screensaver' in the past 3 days and thought it was some annoying junkmail so thankfully just deleted it all.

Its all good. It turned out to be a virus called w32.yaha, which is quite non malicious. I was first told it might be w32.klez, which wipes your hard disk
but i used both antidotes anyway,, and the yaha one was successful, yay!
yeh i got about 8 of them yesterday, but in so used to shit i just ticked and blocked them all before giving them a second chance.
Nortan anti virus 2002 with updates gets rid of pretty much everything, worth checking out

better update my virus scan..
heard somethin on the radio about it but i flicked channel haha. em my piece of advise. Dont open emails u are not expecting or dont know who they are from
yarr, i got Norton Internet Security 2003, had 2002 last year, and it comes with norton Antivirus aswell, and with auto update its always on top of things and sorts any viruss out for you. it even scans emails as your sending them too which is handy.
i gte fuckloads of these at my email below
but i opened em at skool so it don't bother me lol
