The Phat Pant debate
Ok here comes the phat pant debate. Personally i cant stand the sight of the pants. It all came to a head the other day at work when a clown or i though he was came in with a visor and those big ass phat pants. I asked "DOn't u feel embarassed wearing those things." Na dude he goes these are da bomb. I pity da f00l. ANywayz the question is phat pants or no phat pants. Personally i think every club in melbounre should have a no phat pants policy. Long Live the muzzas!!!!!!!!!!
P.s straight denim i can handle but when theres fur, fluro colours stars etc it getting beyond a joke.

That is all
SINCE THEY CANCELLED DUCK SEASON THEY SHOULD ALLOW PHAT PANT SHOOTING SEASON!!!!
why do people wear them?

did you guys stop to think that the perhaps the main reason why "these" people choose to wear them, is because they actually like wearing them.
to say you wanna ostracize a certain group of people (of the dance community nontheless) for wearing a certain item of clothing is just absurd.
yes i wear phat pants (ONLY at clubs and events) and yes just like you, i like to have a good time while i'm at these places. Why should a person's right to have a good nite out be jeopardized by something as trivial as oversized or colourful pants.
please learn to become more tolerant and maybe, just maybe, you mite learn to accept people for who they really are.
btw for those thinking "wtf are phat pants?", it's a melbourne thing (i think) and they look a little something like this:
or even
and here's one on a chicky babe

PHAT PANTS eh!

I quite like phat pants, but only if they're fairly understated. None of this fur rubbish
. If they didn't cost $140 for a pair, I'd already own some. *ducks head*
Why pay $140 for "phat pants" when u can spend less on a good quality pair of levi's which can be worn (pretty much) anywhere and everywhere.
TranceBunnY: Well i quite like the ones in your pics! :-) but then again i have nothing against floro stuff it's just the amazingly conformist ones who all where exactly the same phat pants with those rope bits on the butt...arrg. But i wearing pants with zips down the sides and they are made out of shiny green microfiber, everyone calls them my space pants, and i'm not going clubbing or anything! :-)

hehehe nice one phil
I was waiting for someone to pick up on that...
I agree with dudikoff. I think phat pants are pretty stupid though. However, they add to the night. Imagine if you went to two tribes and everyone was wearing the same sort of stuff, no club bunnies to perv and laugh at, no kandy ravers to make things interesting. Personally i think they add to the night, give it a funner feel.
Im quite a fan of denimn baggy pants though.
dammit philby u beat me to the lobster racing joke :/
seriously though, wear phat pants or not, i don't care... we don't see em alot (outside of festival-type events) in sydney, at least i don't anyway...
agree on the visors, wtf is up with that?! eminem wears a tennis visor, therefore he is cool .. i'll wear one too! that'll make me cool!
it is quite funny the phat pants thing... but who cares wat people wear as long as everyone is getting along...still phat pants are still funny ahahahha
the phatter the cooler u are hahahaha
ok, dont flame me just yet
but i dont see anything wrong with them, some are just plain crazy and stupid
but i can tolerate others
as phil will know, im gonna start making them LMAO
i see the problem with leg warmers,
not phat pants
I don't wear "phat pants", but I don't mind seeing them worn by others. I'm glad that they express their enthusiasm for the culture in the form of fashion. Fluoro colours add a bit of eye candy to the scene.
People are free to wear what they want to, whatever makes them happy.
It's just a bit of fun.
Fashion shouldn't be taken too seriously.
What's in your head is more important.
I don't mind phat pants I just hate the overstated ones.
I wouldn't mind some big ass denim ones.....but nay to the fluro/relfective/zip/fuzz mayhem
It's the combination, if you saw me wearing them you'd probably hardly notice, but if you saw someone else with their huge colourful LOOK AT MY PANTS FOO pants + visor + whatever other crap you would notice
the clothes reflect the person, but it's the combination.
Maybe we should throw candi raverz off the cliff, but keep their pants.
Then they'll be off a cliff...and have no pants :P
Can't stand the over-the-top 'look at me! i'm sooo fucking hardcore' fluro/zipper/whatever shite that people attach to their asses. To me it screams NEWBIE. I may be wrong, and that may be a generalisation, but thats the way i see it. Particularly those who choose to wear them out as their 'normal' clothing, like going shopping and stuff. I should ask one:
Me: What sound are ya into?
Clueless #1: Techno!
Me: Techno the genre?
Clueless #1: Whats a 'genre'? Is that a song? Its all techno doof doof isn't it?
Me: Go away.
The denim ones i can stand, wouldn't wear them myself.
And i fvcking hate those visor shit. Its not sunny and if it was, ya head is still gettin cooked. Are you playing poker? Then take that thing off!!

as with everthing there are phat pants and phat pants.. i think that if you want to wear them, go ahead.. there are some red-shiny-bellbottoms that tons of people in germany wear. I do not like them, i make fun of them, but i wouldn't ever think that the people wearing them don't have fun. I walk around in my outfit, others can dress how they want to. heck there are people in suit between half naked guys/ chicks.. it really doesn't matter, as long as your ATTITUDE is good!
