Smiley DJ Ian Van Dahl goes progressive

Look at what I just found on www.ivibes.de :

Ian Van Dahl begin work on a new single and album!... Im sure this will be good news for some of you and bad news for others Read On...

Its currently unannounced but Ian Van Dahl have begun work on a new album and new single. The album will be more progressively orientated and the single will be more Hands In The Air type of anthem! As with all Ian Van Dahl stuff each track has its own unique presence and im sure that their new and future stuff will also possess these great values!

Good luck on the new productions guys!

Sounds good, I always knew Ian Van Dahl was more than just commercial dance/trance. (mainly because Christophe Chantzis is part of it and because of a few of their latest remixes)

Fuck that shit. I'd rather listen to DJ Assault a thousand times.

Maybe it won't be that bad, let's wait and see

Me 2, try the Lange Mix of Reason, awesome tune.

They all make me sick. I'm lactose intolerant Actually, I hate any trance with vocals unless it's something extremely classy and well-done, like Andain-Summer Calling or Way out West- The Fall and Mindcircus.

LOL

IvD becomes too cool for Commercial Trance and turns to Prog
Prog becomes commercial
Prog addicts become too cool for IvD and turn to something even moer undergroundish .

Pf...

Hehe yeah...

"This next album sounds more like me, it's very personal"

Christina Aguilera

"I've worked really hard on this album, I feel that this album is more me then the first one"

Britney Spears

"The album will be more progressively orientated and the single will be more Hands In The Air type of anthem!"

Ian Van Dahl

Hope u get my point...

IvD's remix of Conjure One's 'Sleep' is a very overlooked, very well produced track. I wouldn't go shitting on this quite yet.

Indeed a decent-and-above production from IvD, I'll wait n see how this turns up.

"In other news, Bedrock duo John Digweed and Nick Muir have announced that their next single will be more of a 'clubby, hands in the air' type of production 'along the lines of Lasgo or Fragma.'"

Posted by UWM on Jan-10-2003 01:02:

Well since Heaven Scent is among the all time great 'hands in the air' tracks, who knows.

heh, I read an article about how IVD were out to get back to the sound of the Human League & Eurhythmics.

IvD prog?Sounds better than da commercial shit that they do now...

Posted by m0sh on Jan-10-2003 13:29:

The sleep remix was the only really good no cheese mix they did...

but if we gonna see prog cheese ... omg

Posted by XxremedyxX on Jan-10-2003 14:19:

Yea i'm looking forward to see what potential they have in that genre of trance. I did like that song Reason but it pisses me off when people think of Castles in the Sky as "trance." Annemie does have a good voice though so it'll be interesting to see how they throw her into this.

Posted by XxremedyxX on Jan-10-2003 14:22:

Oh and another thing... if this prog album is really true you know everyone who likes commercial trance will pick this up and be like hmm what is this then it'll start to get more people into less commercial trance and prog. It'll be interesting to see if this album does encourage more people to listen to other genres of trance.

Posted by michif72 on Jan-10-2003 15:01:

I don't like IvD very much, but i have to say that "Ian van Dahl - Try" was nice........really nice vocals and not to commercial.........All i want to say is that i think IvD could be able to make some prg oriented tracks........but i guess he wouldn't forget the money......that might be a reason for the style of his next single (hands up-style) though his album will be prog oriented....

Posted by Blue. on Jan-10-2003 21:25:

I see potential. They make good crap and I definately see potential and I think that this will end in good things.
