Turning ram into mp3?

Is it possible to do this?
I don't have a SB live so i can't record what im hearing.

Is there maybe any programs that can do this?

there is a program called Total Recorder that will let you record anything that goes through your speakers as a wave file. then you can convert that to mp3.

you will lose a little quality but not much.
