Question How often do you buy records?

How often do you shop for new vinyl, and how many records do you typically buy each time?

Posted by Acid John on Jan-11-2003 01:48:

well, it seems like im always searching for new records. whenever i have free time i check out the *new in* section of all the online shops. even if i cant buy anythig, i write down all of the vinyl that sounds interesting. so when i do go out to a store, or buy online, i can look for other stuff if they dont have what i want. but when a "brick and mortar" store, i dont look for much particular...i just look

i buy around $60-$70 dollars worth of vinyl each time i go out, or go online and buy

if im lucky, i buy some records about every month....but if im unlucky i may have to wait longer

I buy records every week, about 6-10 each time. I have good paying full time job and live with my dad so I dont have to pay rent, im pretty lucky!

not enough! i have a full time job too, but i have to pay rent and bills, so it's tough. not to mention currently trying to save for a wedding. i haven't bought records in months.

Urg, I have a bad habit. I order from chem every couple of months 150 bucks to 200 and whenever I get depressed I go to hipnotik and buy stuff. Real bad habit. Today I didn't go to school so I could be the first to get to the new section. But I dont' pay rent or anything and have a job so...

not often, financial problems

As soon as I see a Stellar Tune I grab it right away. Online i don't buy less than 10 vinyl and with cdn money it ain't cheap. At record stores around here between 3 - 7 a week.

Over the past 3 years I would say a minimum of $500 a month, somtimes closer to $1000 a month. I remember every record and where I got it and the Price I paid. And with like 1200 records thats alot of wasted brain material. I think I have a sickness for Turntables and Trance.
I don't care what amount of dollars I spend on Equipment and Records, eventhough I am a total CHEAPSKATE on everthing else, the money spent on Material and Equipment is a MUST.

lately maybe 15 or so a month. it's a bad habit, and considering I don't have decks it's stupid... in that I'm trying hard to save up for equipment and half my shithouse wage goes on vinyls. I tend to do it when I'm depressed and life is just a bore (moved countries not long ago), it's like a quick fix... and once again stupid cos all I can do is look at them and wish I had decks. I guess I also tell myself that I don't want to look back and be annoyed I didn't buy this vinyl or that vinyl when I had the chance! I'll prolly slow down soon tho since I've been buying a lot of classics and there's not many left that I want (classics that is), plus university starts in 11 hours for the first time in my life and I'm guessing I'll be getting fuck-all hours at work because of it. That and 6 dollars an hour = no decks for another 10 years. sigh.

Hey, I was buying records for a way before I even had decks. I even bought one at a time many months apart. It took me a good eight months before I had both decks and my mixer. It was hard having records and not be able to play them. Sometimes I would just stare at the record and wonder when? Rememberence_, keep saving and hang in there, you'll eventually get your decks.

If you buy what you say, you would have had wheels long time ago.
For you to post that is like saying.... Yeah I am saving all my crack till I get a pipe!! Parents check your sons record sleeves they may be all empty!!!

Your one month buy of records would get you wheeling

C'Mon

Not as often as I should. I try to buy when a tune I've been wanting forever comes out. I need a new mixer so I'm trying to save up for that. So many vinyls so little money.
