Trance <-> Prog
First off, a disclaimer: this thread is peaceful in nature and was never meant to offend trance lovers on these boards (I'm one myself so dont worry) but I just thought this would make for an interesting discussion topic.
Question: Which one track would you choose if you were a prog addict and wanted to convert an uplifting trance fan into a progressive (prog house/prog trance/prog-whatever) lover?
Well personally.. I think stuff by Yunus Guvenen is a good start.. his signature style of prog with a subtle tinge of trance would definately appeal.. Red Pilot, Euphrates and Tigris come to mind. What about you guys?
One tune....Hm.I'd probably go for Atlas - Compass Error (Tarrantella & Redanka Remix).Simply cos it combines the best of both worlds.
Pornorama - Id Say Yes (Sapphirecut club mix)
One track won't change somebody opinion on it...
Try something older! Like Dave Seaman - GU016, Sasha - GU013 or the Northern exposure cds. Or try Sasha mixes from 1999/2000.
Infusion - Legacy (Junkie XL Remix)

Arrakis - Aira Force (Lemon 8 Remix)
the best of the 2 worlds
Accadia - Into The Dawn (James Holden Remix) is a definite must-get too..
Arkarna - The Future's Overrated (Evolution's Time Bomb Mix)
Hmmmm.....
James Holden - Nothing ?
yum yum - heavy fluid (original mix)
hehe...watch out for progaddict.com
I think a single track does Prog no justice as Prog is better listened to in a set. That way the listener can feel the intro, the buildup, the peak, and finally the finish of a set. That is what really makes progressive so good.
I would recommend Any of the Sasha or Digweed GUs (excpet Los Angeles, because it's too dark for prog newbies). I also personally recommend Pappa's, Howells', Satoshi's and Sander' Nubreeds.
Get him converted asap.
Dark Suite - Dark Sweet Piano (Walley Lopez Mix)

i agree with dark_tenshi, no one song could change a trance lover into listening to prog. they need to listen to a set. I only started listening to prog coz there a fewer quality trance tracks being produced , it sucks when everyone copies each others work. Mixing prog is more fun.
Whatever happened to the word UNDERGROUND? it dissappeared coz theres some much cheese being played at raves.
