why i quit smoking pot
ussually i pass on grass. i smoked when i was in high school and every once in a while ill smoke with my friends for a special occasion. today i smoked with my aunt because my father had a quadrouple bypass, they foung a brain tumor and a brain anurism..its been a rough week for everyone in my family. so anyway i was like f*ck it, im gonna smoke a nice relaxing joint, have some beers and just relax and watch the playoffs. my aunts weed is the most potent stuff on the planet..it shouldnt even be classified as weed..buzz..im stoned and im rambling..well this is my point. i was sitting on my the couch in my canibis coma and i started thinking. its possible that none of us see the same color the same way. there is no way to tell...what may seem red to u can appear blue to me. there is no way to tell. u cant describe colors. u can say oh thats red..its a hot color because its the color of fire. if i see fire as the color blue, then all things blue will seem hot to me. oh my god im so confused..the only thing we can be sure that we see the same way is black or white, because they are the combination of all the colors. damn u to hell pot..i hate thinking.
OMG. i sometimes wonder the same thing....how could you tell?
its impossible.
wow, i thoguht my brain was broken, but it isn't, other people think the same way i do.
I've been bad and I've smoked an 1/8th with a friend over the past 2 days. Oh well. You don't even want to hear about what we figured out... why the Sewing Channel is the best channel on TV.
lol.. the "my blue is not your blue" concept is an inevitable step in mmost peoples psychological development. i don't think marijuana has much to do with it, although it does make you think deeper. p
ersonally, i never considered that idea i was about 16. i know people that have figured it out at age 5 or 6 though.
it's a well documented phenomenon, that epiphany when you realize, holy shit, who knows if i am not seeing this totally different! then it leads to thoughts of your other senses, like for example hearing, what if high frequencies sound low to other people and vice versa? then you extrapolate even further to CONCEPTS and now the real fun part starts. see.... some people see things different. to some the bad is the good, and vice versa, that's why we are all different.
and that my friend, is the beauty of the universe.

Who knows maybe runny eggs taste like steak to some people
Everyone DOES see things differently. Since each of us have had a different psychological development, things aren't the same to all of us
Also, girls see about 50 times more colours as guys do and there are approximately 186,000 colours on the colour wheel. That's why when your girlfriend asks you "do youlike THIS red or THAT red better" you can't tell the difference. But WE can.

It's about perception and how that works. Just read some philosophy...Kant, Hume etc.

I guess every sex has its own advantages.
Anyway, about different people seeing differently, I myself also had same thoughts about it, most likely everybody had, but I dismissed it.
Few reasons for it, but basically it's because we usually react to the same stimulations equally, and our bodies and brains are physically too similar to allow such differences.
For example, everyone agrees that red looks warmer than blue. Now, you may say that it's because people are thought to think so. But, if you introduce green color into the equation, everyone also thinks it's cooler than red, but warmer than blue. Here, if everyone percieves colors differently, to someone it would look warmer than red, or cooler than blue. The only option you have left is that someone sees the spectrum in reverse. And I think that's highly unlikely.
If you broaden that claim onto other senses, you see that it does not make much sense. As trance_n_dance said, some things just don't taste good to anyone, and if everyone had different senses, shit might taste good to someone.
Perhaps minor variations are existent, but large scale ones, like someone seeing all the colors completely differently than you are very unlikely.
