www.vinylwarning.com.au

For the last 6 months myself and a few other melbourne dj's have been working setting up an online record store to cater for dj's in Australia & New Zealand (and the rest of the world).

Having purchased most of my record collection from various online record stores overseas, I developed a model of what a good online record store should provide and have worked hard to achieve a system that is extremely fast, powerful & easy to use.

At the moment we are stocked up with a lot of quality hard trance and uplifting trance. Within months we will be getting large shipments of hard house, techno and breaks. To celebrate the opening of the store all stock has been set at VERY reasonable prices.

Please check out the store, any feedback would appreciated.

yeah i know.. but why pay for postage+handling when i can just go direct thru my local store? works out cheaper that way

If you buy 2 records off us it works out at $20 per record including postage. This is the same price that most shops in Australia charge. While our records are unusually cheap at the moment because of our opening sale, we will always endeavour to provide our records cheaper than most stores so as to offset the cost of postage.

Posted by reemo on Jan-13-2003 08:21:

Nice work Reemo, will keep an eye out for what you have available. Just a word of advice, i really think you will not be able to raise your prices in order to stay competitive with other online record stores. For example, Chemical records have many selection at UK 4.50 (about $13) with shipping at only UK 1.50 (about $4.50) no matter how many reocrds you buy.
This means many records are available for about $17.50 including shipping from the UK.
But anyway if you have what i am looking for i will be sure to buy from you because i'm like dick smith and support Australian business.

I agree with stamper, if prices stay like they are, and selection stays current then i would use this service.

Posted by reemo on Jan-13-2003 08:41:

yeah it would be hard for any australian store to offer prices as good as chemical... they really do have the best prices... we will do our best

dont forget to subscribe to the newsletter to stay up to date on our new stock

Posted by sifntj0r on Jan-13-2003 12:17:

you should all pay that extra 2.50 and support a local aussie supplier

the more customers they get, the bigger they get, then eventually, they can start really being competitive knowing they have a solid customer base.

fuck the poms off, where's your loyalty lads!!!?

Yea, fuck the poms, I'd rather spend a bit more and get them here... and not have to wait for them in the post for so long.

And give these guys some credit for setting all this up.

Nice work. As has been mentioned on 'other' sites, get some prog and other genres up and running, increase user base, get more sales.

Philby if you are using the standard product listing (from the top drop down menus) every record should have a description including each remix on it. If there are any without this detail then this is an oversight so please let me know which items so we can fix.

Look for a link that looks like this: "[MP3]" its located just before the descriptions. I think ill make it orange so it stands out a bit more
