DJ's who made it big without producing/remixing?

Just curious of who there is... Dave Seaman? I dont think hes ever produced anything.

Yes,he has. He's involved in all the Brothers In Rhythm-productions and also done a lot of producing for mainstream artists like Sugababes and Take That. The question is if this has made him as big as he is dj-wise.Personally,I'm not sure.

Dave Seaman has been associated with Kylie Minogue as well.

he's remixed and produced quite a lot under the Brothers In Rhythm & other monkiers.

he's mainly worked as a studio sound engineer (much like Charlie May) for many mainstream artists. (you know how some songs would sound wicked without the poppy cheeze vocals)

essentially, most of the well known dj's need to be full on producers/remixers as well

of course there's gonna be arguements over whether or not Paul Oakenfold can produce...

Dave Pearce? Seb Fontaine? Ashley Casselle? Loads more I would think.

Seb Fontaine has produced as Cequenza!!!

Matt Hardwick certainly didn't become big because of his productions, since he just started doing them (That fusion track)

scott bons is popular because he owns part of gatecrasher and puts himself in the line up...and i do think he has made tracks...i think he made one called "iron eden" or something to that effect a couple years ago.

.

Even though he has not produce much he did make "I'm not going home" (Scott bond pres Q-dos) and NOCTURNAL SPIRIT under the same alias.

I'm not going home was quite a good tune in its time!!!!!

=(

You cant get very big DJ if you arent producing, or extremly good...
