JD-800 Vs JP-80X0
Hey!
I'm thinking of buying a synth.
I found a JP-8000 and a JD-800 but I'm not sure which one to buy. They both cost around 550$ each.
Any suggestions?
I can't help you decide between the two, but you might want to check out http://www.harmony-central.com (if you haven't already) and read reviews there.
If you are looking for other synths in that range, you might check out the Access Virus A, Korg MS2000, Roland Juno 106, Roland JX-8P w/ PG-800, and I'm sure others can recommend more.
Thanks man!
Will check em out rightaway!
I only know the jp8000 so i suggest you that....also because many producer use it ...like ferry airwave push etc etc ...
You shuold try them beforew buying one of those machine and see the one that is better for you .....550$ are always 550$
See ya
Yeah! I think I'm gonna go with a JP-8000.
Been listening to some demos from it and they sound awsome!
KLICK FOR DEMOS
LateR!
The JP-8000 is an excellent synth. Lots and lots of trance producers out there use it, and what I've heard from it is amazing
Personally I only get negative thoughts when hearing about it though. The thing is, I got completely assfucked on ebay because of one. I actually paid over $750, and it never arrived. Still pisses me off beyond belief to this day
Peace

Stick with Fruityloops! You've gotten this far with it already.

lol!

That's an excellent choice
I agree that audio recording would be very useful when using a hardware synth and with the pace that those fruity guys have worked in the past I wouldn't be surprised if that came up in the near future.
Yup! It would save me alot of time if they did.
If u'r interested u can read more about "Fruity Studio 4"

the virus rack is a great bit o kit for the cash....i posted the audio demo in exploration of sound...check it out....its got more bang for you buck than either of the two you mentioned
Yeah, but it's too expensive... :/
I have this lil list of synths I'm gonna buy:
1. JP-8000/8080
2. Korg Triton (+ EXB-PCM09)
3. Virus KC
So I will get a Virus, but just not yet!
If/when I get a Virus I am most certainly getting one of the ones with all the dials and stuff. No way I'd go with a rack version... Hands on is the way to go. Just my opinion, though.
Robstar, you may want to look at some Novations and/or Nords, too, before you finish that list...
Hehe yeh, I've been checking out The Supernova...I might add that one to my list too.
Not to fond of the Nord Lead synths ...Tho I've Only tried The First one in the Nord Series .
I heard that Novation will release a softsynth based on the Supernova engine. With some external knobs that could be mighty wicked. I love the knobs and hands on approach of hardware, but the routing/menues and so on is much more managable on softsynths imho. Stuff like handling patches and distributing external effects and outputs is also something I prefer in the software versions. I really wanna try some of the Walfdorf synths to. I have heard very good things about them
Some of them are bloody expensive though
Peace
Can't wait to hear what you get out of the JP Rob
you should also give the k-station rack a try
http://www.novationonline.co.uk/nov...ksrack_over.htm
The K-Station is sweet. Me wants
I think all producers suffer from the desire to buy every synth made
They're sexy, but so expensive

robstar if your'e going for 80x0 i sugest that you pick the rack-model (8080) since it's cheaper and has a few extra features that the 8000 lacks
Yeah, but I want the keyboard version. And the Jp I*m thinking of buying is cheaper then Rack versions I've seen for sale.
So I'm gonna go with the KB ver.
But It would be cool to have the rack ver, since it has got a vocoder and stuff.
why keyboardversion....if your'e moving to hardware you will want to go with a masterkeyboard in the end anyway...simpler that way
anyway I forgot to mention....Rank 1 uses the jp synth very often 2
and it's defenetly gonna be my first hw synth
