Hm basically he's right..but then again, the US WERE attacked, if you like it or not. If 9/11 wasnt a declaration of war (not by some specific country, but by global terrorism as a whole) then I dont know what in your opinion would be an "appropiate" attack, which would justify a defense war.
In the nazis' case, however,a real threat never existed, nor was there any attack that would have justified a counter-strike. Hitler, when beginning WW2, was "staging" an attack by Poland in order to winn support for the annexion that followed. But as I said, it was fake. 9/11, Djerba, Bali, Yemen, Kenia.....those are for real.
Hang on, you're jumping the gun a little. Why have you made a connection with America?

i wasn't talking about the forums, i was talking on a general level, you know life outside the internet
