if your talking collaboration i'm in
i'm not sure how serious you are, but i'm interested in having someone with experience and/or talent to do some production with..
i work with some basic midi stuff/reason and some pretty basic digital stuff/CEP,acid2 ...
i am looking for someone with more musical talent than i..i took piano when i was like 10, so all my melodies are one notes... and someone with vocal stylings.
drop a reply
and i want to be the next mauro picotto
oh yeah
and it would be the "trance scene" not the "trance seen"..
is alienfactory a reference to the guys that produced 'get the future started' and 'any time any place' and that stuff?

I would love to make it big, who wouldn't! I'm not sure how big into production I would like to get...if I do get really serious with the music (more than I am right now) I may start investing in all the equipment necessary.
Peace,
Steve
trance

My big dream is to make music for a living.. i don't care how much, just enough to make me do the thing i love most
Trance music is of course my biggest interest, but scoring movies is also something that i would love.. I'm only 17 and i can't afford any equipment yet, but one day soon i will and hopefully start producing professionally..
Peace

I think learning how to produce trance would be an amazing thing to do. I've always wondered how producers actually make trance. I know a lot of time and effort go into the process as in any musical production (i worked at a recording studio for 8 months). I don't have the slightest idea of where i would even start. Software/equipment/techniques..I know absolutely nothing on the subject. DJ Pete you want to help me out here?

Who I want to be...
I want to be the next Arkainjel. ;-) (Or the first, rather).
Do things like this for yourselves FIRST, guys. If you're not being true to yourself first, all of your stuff (producing or mixing) will sound like a load of bullox. Have your heart into the music, and not trying to be the next so and so. Be yourselves.
[Public Service Announcement courtest of Arkainjel is not meant to be taken offensively. ]
Regards,
Arkainjel
yea i'm interested in producing trance. but i'm like a little lost with reason and rebirth. fruityloops is pretty easy but like i can't seem to get what i want for some reason. i have the basic beats and like they still sound like shit. i looked at some of the examples that were included with the program and they are like friggin pro. and also how do you make or produce your own drum synths and stuff like that for the beats? if any of you have a website that can help me out with producing... please give me a link. thanks people

yeah i definitely want to produce, have some composing background but i cant use this software for crap... have fruityloops, some version of cubase
its just not my kind of thing, as opposed to just sitting down at the keys and hammering something out...
anyone wanna help me out too?
the only thing i have to do is to get better software to produce trance,
does any1 know some good software??
the other thing i need is experience (but this is where i'm working at atm.
the other things are almost arranged. like promotion
dj-luni
software goes the road...
as far as doing music for myself, i think thats the only thing i can do. hopefully my taste in music is good enough that if i like it, people who like the same music i like, will like my music. practically, i'm never going to be the next big trance dj, but every time i mix i'm PvD or cLawrence in my own mind. the simple imagination makes me feel the music better and my mixes stronger. its fun to pretend.
for you would be software producers...
here are my tips...
the most important thing is to download demo songs in reason or rebirth and just watch what someone who knows how to use the program does.
if you would like to learn REASON, learn its easier predecessor, ReBirth. You should be able to figure out Rebirth just by playing with it or with a tutorial (definitely easier with demo songs-like TGV's Kilomix). REASON comes packaged (even the rip) with a GETTINGSTARTED .pdf manual, that is truly awesome. You dont even need MIDI to make an Awesome track with Reason, which is why it is so cool.
for multitracking/audioediting, learn one program and stick with it. I use Cooleditpro because thats what i started with. Soundforge is good (and if you are lucky enough to know how to use proToolsLe, you wont be reading this) as is AcidPro, but keep in my mind the most important part of editing (even with Cubase) is plugins. Make sure that your program will support plugins that you will be able to get. VST plugins work on Cubase while directX work on the other stuff. if you do use midi, cubase is def. your choice because it is an awesome sequencer as well.
another tip comes from an article i read interviewing dieselboy (not that i'm a dnb fan) that has really expanded anyone who listens to it's music. record one drum pattern in rebirth or reason or just off a keyboard. then record the same pattern with a different instrument (or in rebirth, snap the snares and stuff) and layer it. its a great way to find an "original" sound that some schmo (like us
) cant find using the program alone.
if your a composer with some skill and want to do a project but suck at reason, send me the notes and i'll program it in reason for you. respond to this plug if your interested.
the okayDragon
who wants to send me reason? PLEASE
i have uh.... movies?
haha
Hey i have one thing to say...if you really want to make it big in the trance scene you CAN
All it needs is hardwork and determination
Wow im sounding like my parent.....
