I met a club god last night
I'll get to that in a minute. I began my night celabrating a friends birthday in downtown. After cake and a few drinks we decided to venture out and look for a party. I knew that Seb fontaine was at Centro fly but really didnt enjoy his last performance their. Since the people I was with new Thoran and some of the promoters there we got comped. Now its about 3:30 and im thinking to myslef I have to be at a job interview at 8:30. I decide to leave but after meeting a few girls and having some more drinks I changed my mind and chilled in the backroom bar. As of now i am having a decent night but nothing special I am looking around the room and see this older man come in with a beutifull girl who is about 25. I start to chat with her and ask her if that guys her husband..... she tells me that he's her Dad>>>>>>> Peter Gatian I fucking flipped. To my knowledge he was deported a year ago for tax fraud. Well I begged her to intorduce me and she did. He was really friendly actually and totally aproachable. I told them that Ny nightllife died with tunnel/ limelight, and he told me that something big was coming soon. That he would be opening a club in the near furture that would be bigger then exit and located around where tunnel used to be off the west side Highway. After hearing all those bad things about this guy and meeting him I got a total differnt impression.
And on a side note Seb Fontaine ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow glad you had a good night babe.
you think he was talking about crobar?
and how was the interview?
For those of you who didn't go out in 95' 96' 97' 98' Peter Gatian was the owner of the Tunnel and limelight. These club brang an atmosphere that really is non existent today.
im sure it is crobar that he is hinting at...and lets try to refer to the area as being close to twilo...rather than the dirty tunnel LOLS

Tunnel was the first club I was ever at, and probably my all time favorite. I don't care what everyone else says, TUNNEL FUCKING ROCKED!!! The venue was huge, the lightshow wasn't bad, and the soundsystem made all the skin on your body vibrate as soon as you walk on the dancefloor. That space being used for anything other than a club makes me upset. The only bad times I had was when I walked in expecting hard house and that Fat Flexmaster Fucks was in the booth. Twlio might have been a Prog/Trance fans dreamland, but Tunnel was a hardhouse/hardstyle listeners heaven. The crowd usually never bothers me in club because I am always with friends. I judge a place not by it's people, but by it's atmosphere.
There is no NYC club where you can't hear the person next to you talking. In Tunnel you could not hear the person next to you, even if he or she screamed.

Makes me glad that I've been to the Tunnel! Only been there once and it was fucking great - loved the place. Anyone else go to One Nation there back in July of 2001? Much fun
I think One Nation was Tunnel's last good party. It was the last time I was there. If I'm right, they ran that rave right after they ended the Johnny Vicious Sat night party. Vicious played some real great shit back then, and over the past 2 years he's just gone downhill.
A while ago a heard something about someone buying the venue and planning to turn the place into a dinosaur museum.

Yup, He owned the Palladium, Limelight, Tunnel and ClubUSA. Back in the mid 80s till early 90s, the Palladium was by far the most popular club in NY. I would say from 1986 to 1992, the Palladium was the number 1 club in NY. The Palladium became so popular in 1986, because MTV broadcast ClubMTV with downtown Julie Brown from the Palladium. From 93 to 97, the Limelight was the most popular club in NY. The Tunnel was also very popular, but not as popular as the Limelight. After the Limelight closed in 1997, Twilo from 97 to 2000 was the most popular club in NY.

hmmm very interesting.... hope he does bring something new and big.. b/c i think we really need it. exit is a great CLUB... but the place has some shitty ass vibe! so if he could bring something bigger and better then EXIT with GREAT VIBE.... man, it would be great!.. i went to tunnel few times when johnny vicious first started to spin there... but, after his first month, that place started going downhill again.
