Thinking of getting CMX3000+NUMARK3002 or VMX300?

Hello guys. I am aspiring to be a NEW DJ

Im thinking of getting the Pioneer CMX3000 (DUAL CD PLAYER). My friend told me he has a friend who owns it and is kind of complaining that it is a lousy cd player. I am not sure if what he means by lousy. I have seen what the CMX3000 can do and it is really nice. Any Inputs here guys?

As for the mixer , the DJM3000 is way above my budget. I have heard that if i get a pioneer i should only get a pioneer mixer. Is that true? .. heard that if you get a different mixer then the player's brand the audio will sound awful. Not sure if that is true

Can someone recommend me on mixers to get? ... i only need a 3channel mixer. My budget is about USD300 for a mixer. One of the shop in singapore recommended me to get the Berhinger VMX 300 . she said that is a pretty good mixer. it looks nice, i dont really like the DJM300 .. its too ugly looking for me and besides it a few hundreds bucks more then the VMX300. How about the Numark 3002? .. it looks good too.

PS : the equipment i am getting is only for home use.

Thanks in advance guys.

well, the DJM3000 would go well with the CMX3000.

you say it's above your budget? could you save a little more?

the audio won't sound crap coming out of another mixer, but you will lose certain features like the fader start that works with the pioneer CD players and mixers only.

If you buy the CMX3000 and DJM3000 you can get a free case for the system, that might be a good deal for you?

they really are the best stuff around, and are worth the money, that's why everyone buys them.

if not, and you don't want to go that way cuz it's too expensive, i suggest getting something smaller and cheaper, like 2 Numark fusion decks and a numark mixer.

something like this:

for only $599, about half of what you would pay for just the pioneer dual deck.

Thinking........

Hi,

Thanks for your input. Well ... it seems that i dont get a free case if i get the djm3000+cmx3000

what do you mean by only pioneers will have the fader start thing?. sorry, im a newbie, dont quite understand

Thanks

on pioneer mixers and CD players there is a special cable that goes from the mixer to teh CD deck, that allows you to start the CD player by moving the crossfader.

of course this won't work if you get a numark mixer and Pioneer CD decks. I think maybe numark has a similar system, but i am not sure?

i know pioneers is supposed to be the best though.

as for the free case, i'm not sure maybe the promotion is over. I know that it was in effect for a while, but maybe not anymore.

numark 3002

Hi, What are your opinion on the Numark 3002 Mixer?

Will it go along with the CMX3000? .... is it overall a good mixer?

Thanks

Hi,

I don't think you can go wrong for the price of the Behringer models. One thing you may not know - the VMX200 has phone and line in for each channel, switchable on the front panel of the mixer. This means you could hypothetically hook up two turntables and two CDJs to a two channel mixer, whereas you would normally need a four channel mixer to do the same.

The VMX300 has the same feature, but with 3 channels. I just bought the VMX200, and I don't think you'll find a single mixer that's better for $250 CND, thought it's questionable if it's worthwhile to buy the VMX300 model for $100 more. That's even still pretty good for a 3 channel mixer.

On the topic of keeping all your hardware the same brand name, sorry, but that's bullshit. The others posting above have valid points if there are proprietary connections available between the Pioneer CDJs and Pioneer mixers for things like start/stop automation. But for audio alone, brand name doesn't necessarily determine your quality, and equipment definately doesn't have to all be the same brandname.

With that argument, everyone would need to use a Technics mixer with Technics turntables.

ehehe.. you are right. So you think banging my bucks on a CMX3000 and a VMX300 would be a wise choice to go for ? ....

the numark 3002x mixer is good for the money! theres a nice bit of weight behind the faders but not in the x fader, the eqs are nice 10 to -30db i think they are! id recomend the mixer but im not sure of its durability! mines is still working great though no bleeding or that, but i have been looking after mine quite well!

looking after it?

looking after it quite well? ... hmm .. what do you mean by looking after it?... you mean that i have to dismantle the mixer and clean the faders or some sort?

Thank You

Posted by Martin McG on Jan-21-2003 01:18:

i usually try to keep it dust free! i put a cover over it to stop the dust getting into the faders! i dont know if this does anything but the sound is not bleeding or anything so i dont know?! i figure if i cover my decks to stop the dust getting to them then why not do the same with the mixer

overall though ive had no probs with mines and i think its a good mixer for the price!
