Census shows 905 home to more immigrants

wells.. i'm sure a lotta you saw this front page article in the star today. just another one of the realities around our city. and much of the reason why TOTA is so diverse in nature too .. (something that we can all be proud of).

Montreal for sure is a multi-ethnical city , there's a lot of diversity (and no forced assmilation hehe) but i can't tell if it's more or less comparing to toronto

I'm doing an assignment for one of my courses and we have to use Census Tract Data. It's kind've interesting (better than the BS we had to do last semester...) but yeah, it's cool how they group ppl in a certain area and how it all falls together.

Fuck that ... the mainlanders are invading Scarb and Chinatown. That's why all the Scarb. Massive's are moving up north.

yea they're mostly in Scar now..Chinatown downtown is still more Viettown than anything else ..

and as for Markham and Richmond Hill .. that's where all the HK are now cuz they used to be in Scarb but now have tried to move onto better things and were uprooted by the mainlanders and a lotta south Asians too ..

in Quebec the 4 biggest linguistic groups are in ordre,

French Speaking,
English Speaking,
Italian speaking,
Arabic speaking.

Time to share the Mainland stories ....
This one time I was in my friends car and were heading north on midland just past finch. We were only going 60km and we had to pass a stopped bus ... as we passed the bus, (green light for us) this mainland chick walk out of nowhere , in front of the bus and my buddy slamms on the breaks and still we put that bitch on her ass. ARGH !!!!!!

While my sister was pregant, she was shopping at the supermarket ... all these mainland chicks rushing and pushing and almost knocked my sister on her ass.

This is why I can't stand MAINLANDERS .... they are just fucked up, rude and annoying !!! Ya not in China anymore ... it's time to change and get use to things in Cananda. It' s cool that your from the mainland but, it's not cool when you think you can do the same shit as back home.

How do you tell a mainlander right off the bat?

Is it facial features, or something about style?

Help out someone who's so Anglo, his mum's English.

most mainlanders speak Mandarin (not to be confused with Taiwanese ppl who also speak Mandarin) whereas most HK ppl ie. the ones at Viva, speak Cantonese ..

a lotta mainlanders also look like factory workers and a lot less poshy stylish like their HK counterparts.. (no offense here to anyone, just generalizing).

in the GTA, it's something like:

English Speaking,

etc..

Montreal is diverse, agreed. But there is no way in fuck more diverse than Toronto.

The GTA is becoming one of the most diverse cities in the world (per capita of course)

Toronto is the only city in the world that has a population that speaks in 189 different languages.

wells i know we've had that debate about TOTA's having multinational flags under their avatars even though the majority of us are Canadian citizens..

so basically , what i'm wondering if this.. if u consider yourself to be Italian, Polish, Serbian, Chinese, Indian, etc.. how many generations down your line would it take until you think your children's children's children, etc.. consider themselves as "Canadian".. ?

no way toronto is more diverse or less diverse than Montreal. Both have the same minorities, in more or less of importance. The greater Montreal area is something like 3.5 Millions of people, lots lots of different people and mentalities and I love it if I remember well, in high school (about 800 students) there was like about 55-60 different languages spoken! you gotta love the diversity

wells i know that Montreal is a really ethnically diverse city.. but at the rate of the immigrant influx into TO (compared to that of the rest of Canada), eventually no one here will be able to speak English in like 5 years ..

so for the seperatists of Quebec, they need not worry about losing their French language over English since all the immigrants will uproot English for them !

Your need to compare yourself to Toronto just underlines your insecurities.

I don't want to start another Montreal-Toronto quibble, but let's just accept that they're different; elles ne sont pas pareilles. Pas meme un tout-p'tit peu.

dude you must be an e-tard, what insecurity? where did I say montreal is better? Montreal and Toronto are two big cities, very different but also very similar due to a very diverse populace.

As far as I know it's a bit easier to immigrate to Quebec, they have easier immigration policies.. That's why a lot of people go there, even though economically it's a bit weaker than Ontario.
