Will the real New Yorkers please stand up?

So I was stittng there, innocently, reading this magazine when this advertisment strikes me and I lean against the wall in order to not collapse on the floor.
350 Euro /340? dollars for NYC and back, possible until march 31st. Of course this sounds awesome BUT then I thought again: Where the hell am I gonna sleep, and more important: How much will THAT cost me?

So here's your mission, my New Yorker friends: List cheap/nice hotels and other genereal recommendations for the typical naive Austrian NYC Tourist!

AnywayZ Im prepared, if indeed, to come alone, as no1 but me will have the power/interest to do this journey...but that's okay, Im used to travelling alone
And im sure to meet some f you when clubbing

Spaking of which: can u list the trance/houseaddict-compatible nightclubs c are indeed GOOD (crowd wise for example?)
Probably the most urgent question I have as fort oday: What's "Vinyl's" age limit? If being 19 still wont be enuff to see Danny T or Danny H I'm gonna kill you all

ARc/ Vinyl is usually 18+. They do not sell liquoer anyhow.

Cheap hotel: I heard something like $60/ night.. but i am sure there are better deals

you should plan your trip around the weekend of feb 21-22. 12 feb is PVD at roxy, then you can go to arc for afterhours with DT. and feb 22 is danny howell's return after a two month absence.

if you are only 19, you can go to pretty much all the good weekend parties but you'll need a fake ID for the weekday parties (which are usualyl the better parties in NYC)

for hotels, try www.readio.com
i would suggest staying downtown or close to the village but anywhere midtown or below is pretty easy to get around. i'd offer accomodations but i live with my parents in jersey.

as butterfly mentioned, pvd in boston 2/20 and in nyc 2/21

both events are 19+ in boston, 18+ in NYC.

Arc is always 18+

i'm thinking of taking a trip to Germany with the low fares. just be careful, there was an additional $100 in taxes charged on top of the fare...

yeah man, you should go around Feb 21 with PvD. As you may know I am going, too! That would make it 3 GTA's at PvD

As for hotels, well that sucks in NYC. Anything cheaper than $100 is usually a dump. Dunno what your budget is, but you might want to try the Gershwin which has rooms from $99 (+ tax which is approx 20% or so), see www.gershwinhotel.com. I have no idea as to how good/bad hostels are, only that they are pretty expensive by European standards, too.

Try www.ny.com for hotels and general info, www.hoteldiscount.com for the obvious or better still www.hrs.de which usually has really good hotel deals worldwide.

For clubbing, Filter 14 and Baktun are supposed to be really good. They're small, more underground type clubs and thus pretty cool. Satoshi Tomiie spins at Filter monthly, I believe (or was it even weekly?). Not sure about the day, Tuesday or Thursday I think.

As ruby pointed out, make sure the airfare you saw was quoted including taxes. My Lufthansa ticket from Frankfurt costs eur 289 + tax eur 84 = a total of eur 373. That's the kind of fare you want ot get.

satoshi spins the 3rd tuesday of every other month at filter, i think. it is 21+, so you'll need a fake ID.

baktun is closing next week. their lease ended and one of the shi shi clubs got it. . tronic, the monday techno party has a new venue that will be announced next week. also 21+

yeah my sub $300 ticket turned to 360 pretty quick
