My Hate Toward Punk Music

ok.. i feel it is time i get this off my chest.

I hate punk music.. where its all screaming and dumb lyrics about stupid things. Ny GF is into some of the punk music shit.. and it aggrivates me.. she is going to "the used" concert in NyC.. n i refused to go.. i dont wanna see that nonsence.. and pay at that.. might as well be RAp music

Is it just me or do these groups have little to no talent? Any fool can go scream.

Does punk music suck.. or am i taking crazy pills? (kinda a line from zoolander) =D Really whats the deal?

I dont even wamt her going to this concert.. she's a georgous 17 year old.. 5'2 - 5'3 and about 90 lbs.. and im worried about the shit that goes on there..

I agree. Punk is a genre that has definitely used up all it's resources. I don't think there has been any innovational punk for about 10-15 years now. In recent, years its all just turned to sappy garbage that I don't wanna hear about why their girlfriend won't fuck them because they are a bunch of losers in a punk band.

All I have to say is Thank God it's not as popular as it's been for the last two years. Then again, this nu-metal shit or whatever they like to call it might even be worse so I won't go there for the time being.

Well, not that I'm a big fan of punk music, but I basically don't mind it. It is true though that the performers sometimes aren't very talented, but then again, usually everybody is drunk on those concerts so nobody minds it.

You may not have been told, but punk music concerts are usually populated by huge drug addicted rapists and murderers.

But seriously, it's just a bunch of people being drunk and jumping around on each other while listening to sped up music...
The chances of something happening to her there are the same as with any other concert/party.

Too bad Manson has more Talent than any Punk band. I've been to a lot of Punk shows and and punk tours, and I've been to one Manson concert, and I can safely say that Manson is easily the best live act I've ever seen (Besides John Digweed ) So go out and learn a little about music before blatantly trashing some of it. Just because there are a lot of other ignorant people like yourself who will agree with you and make you feel special for saying stupid shit like that doesn't mean you need to go out talking shit about an artist whose more talented than you will ever be.

Its funny because "The Used" isn't even punk. I'd wager most of you have no idea what real punk is. But thats ok. Regardless, some of the singers may not have the greatest voices, but thats not what its about. Punk isn't about being the best guitar player in the world, or having the greatest voice, its about using the music, however much of it u have, to convey a message.

but i do go over to the extreme darkside and listen to that digital hardcore punk [as someone said earlier] and i must say it isnt bad, for when ur on an angry monday or summin

i hope my stupid little rant got someone's blood boiling cause its soo IGNORANT.... but that's exactly the same shit people (rb2k1) is talking about punk music. screaming? no talent? only if you're listening to the pop-punk that's on the radio. there's still a lot of good punk bands kickin around if people bothered to look around for them. people think punk rockers have no talent cause they keep their music simple, sometimes using just 3 chords, but that's the beauty of the music, its simple, and the real power of the music is in the message. what if i said stupid shit like "electronic music has the same beat over and over, therefore, there's no talent in producing it..." that's just ignorant shit.

stop judging other genres of music in the exact same way others judge trance....

It's all about the music. The crowds are or at least should be a by product of the music. It's just like in trance when someone puts a hhot track on, you get your dance on. If they play some thing really bad, your probably not dancing.

Btw, from what everyone keeps saying about punk, most people don't seem to know what it is, who/what exactly do you think punk is?

i think wut ppl are meaning to say is stuff more along the lines of metal...punk is pretty damn fluffy and poppy/happy stuff if you ask me. anyway, i gotta admit metal while a lot of screaming and not the greatest musically, is a great release of emotion/anger and is a great way to get back at society and its crappy rules. my two cents...

as for your gf going to a concert...my gf (5'0, 92 lbs) is going to linkin park in the UK in march...while i'm a lil' wary cuz of her size, i kno she loves them so i'm gonna stay quiet on this and hope for the best. at any rate, it could be worse....at least she's not going to some crazy hardcore goth concert.
