THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!

okay so far these are the huge tracks that ive heard in the shocking places:

William Orbit - Barbers adagio for strings, during the syndney olympics
4 strings - Take me away(original) in a home and away commercial
Chicane - SaltwaterIRONMAN/IRONWOMAN SERIES!
Delerium - silence (tiesto in search of sunshine mix) as the background music @ at the KFC drivethrough speakers
Freefall feat. jan jhonston - sykdive a SKYSHOW last year
Da Hool - Meet her at the love parade, on SA-FM(basically the No.1 top 20 station in the city) when they were promoting one of there fuctions Leave this ChOON alone!

AND THE WORST OF ALL
a 20-30 seocond take of....
DJ Tiesto - Urban Train during big brother (when they were doing drafting and playing twister!)

this is how commercialised this scene is getting!

why do you care how commercialised the 'scene' is getting...... maybe its cos you listen to fairly 'commercial' music. I really don't understand why people want their 'scene' to remain 'underground' and all that shit......oh i'm cool...... jeesus, what happened to liking music for its sound, not its image???

disgraceful.....

please inform me as to why it is so bad that your 'scene' is turning commercial again?

uhhmmm dipshit...
"image"???
thats the thing, trance isent about an image.
its about a "sound".
the best "sound" there is.
the thing is knowone knows it YET.(best to keep it that way)

as we all know, pop music is nothing but an image.
its about some teeny booper fag slut skimping around in spandex and lycra singing "hit me baby one more time"....

ANYway, as soon as they start associating a sound with an image ie.
barbers adagio for strings/with something like grant hacket/weetbix...
your gonna get little tenny booper kiddies parading around in designer ferry corsten and AVB T-SHirts....much like fubu(which is utter crap)

jeez, i guess you must think these are all good things

anyway the next thing you know, tiesto will FILL in for oakenfold and release his massive 12" STOMPA! "Tiesto feat. Justin Timberlake - we are massive wankers"

anyway, im guessing you must like oakenfold. so im not talkin to you again

100% agreed.

Music's meant to be enjoyed, and is only an image to the individual. Who cares if people start associating a trance tune with grant hacket, if you dont associate it then its all good. No need to be selfish with quality music, everyone has a right to their own tastes.

I hate scooter

Posted by Itchy on Jan-28-2003 06:53:

i wouldn't really give a cows arse if everyone in the world liked the music i liked and asociated it with fucking weet bix and glow sticks....... obviously you are not like myself and are not content with simply listening to decent music and enjoying it........ you have to take it down to a stupider level........ well done mate, well done

Posted by Itchy on Jan-28-2003 06:54:

oh, and yes i love oakenfold

you contradictory fool........

I was also in a clothes shop when they played Barber's Adagio for Strings (FC Mix)
Hell it made me stay longer!

And also just a question, what mix of "Calling Your Name" was played in American Pie when Jim is stripping? Is it the original?

Posted by Sid on Jan-28-2003 08:35:

I'm pretty sure it was the original Trancey Ash. William Orbit - Barbers adagio for strings was also used as the theme for the 2000 State of Origin series, that truly sent tingles down my spine !

Posted by Slade on Jan-28-2003 09:24:

The Bongo Song has been heard at many a sport event

Original under the Anomoly guise, not the new Jan Johnson Hire the DVD, enjoy the movie then watch for the music credits, the answer lies there

Some other public airings of trance tracks:

- On Boxing Day at the Ashes Test, Chicane - Saltwater was played when the players came out to commence play

- FOX FM in Melbourne have been using Veracocha - Carte Blanche as the background music when they cross to the FOX Black Thunder guys (or whatever they're called now)

Posted by Slade on Jan-30-2003 02:17:

notice how radio stations always play the best music in the background? like yesterday @ work I was listening to 92.9 and while the jock was talking, they were playing Rob D - Clubbed To Death (Hybrid Mix)

I was like SHUTUP MAN I WANNA LISTEN TO THAT TUNE!

damn, that was going to be my contribution =p. its also the back drop for the competitions they have when picking up the lines from callers.

trance becoming more commercialised? *shrug* you know, it will inevitably happen. it has a more commercial sound than the other electronica genres, espesh with all the euro trash n remixes that's been hitting the charts, its given the mainstream an introduction. but if that's the case, i think the most significant thing you should remember n constantly remind yourself is why you began listening to it in the first place. for the "love of the music". nobody can take that away, and because of that, it'll always be different to you than to anybody else!

cheers!

haha
i remember listening to fox at work in the mornings and hearing this, thinking 'shit that is such a good song! i need to know what it is!' then one day browsing the forums i see people going on about old tunes and carte blanche was one of them and i thought "maybe i should download some of these older ones, everyone raves about them". so i did, and when i listened to it went "omg! thats it!!! w00000t!!!"
