Ill repost this. Sorry.

I have my first track that I produced up on AcidPlanet.com. If you could take a listen to it and tell me what you think that would be great. Pretty good, i really like the piano. The strings are ok too. The only thing is that the beats are a little hollow and amuture sounding, you need to fill them out a bit more. I agree that the piano sound is definetely familiar from somewhere

What do you mean the beats are amateur and hollow? How can I fix this? I use Reason 1.0 to make my music. What advice can you give me to fix this hollow sound? Thanks a lot guys.

beef it up with another kick sample... mix and match the volumes til it sounds good. could also put a lil reverb on it, cut down the sample length a bit if u do this. also.. COMPRESSOR!

compressor on the kick or on the whole mix? ive heard people say I should use a compressor but I dont really like the way it kills the sound (maybe Im just not using it right). Anyway, I should be getting Reason 2.0 today, so I'll rework the song with more samples, maybe some new sounds....who knows. Can someone explain a lil more about using the compressor? Thanks.
