System F - Together (Radio Edit)

Just managed to listen to it... it's a fabulous track!!! I thought it sucked at first but it is good!

It's not Solstice, but who cares!

Posted by corsten_addict on Jan-28-2003 23:01:

And in my sig, it says i'm a trancer turned prog addict.

lol

*Gets his fire extinguisher*

where can we buy the new album online anyone?

Posted by Daknockman on Jan-29-2003 01:51:

Just finished downloading the album just now. Having flicked briefly through the tracks, it sounds MEGA cheesy, like flip n fill or some euro trance shite like that.

Ferry just lost a lot of respect from me for this album i'm afraid

consider the market he's trying to sell this cd to...which is japan. they're used to the so called "cheesy" material

Posted by tc-fan on Jan-29-2003 02:55:

some tracks are actually great..not all are cheesy..

Agree! and the cheesy tracks of the album are GOOD CHEESE in my opinion if we compare it to Dj Sammy 'heaven'!

GREAT CHEESE anyway

Listen to the music that the people in Japan typically hear, he's trying to reach to that audience, why do you think the album is a Japan release only? I haven't heard the album yet, but let me guess, it sounds like trance, but boardering on the happy hardcore sound (not the BPM). Something like Super Eurobeat (music from many animes, ie. Initial D).

Posted by Rakoon on Jan-29-2003 03:39:

I've only heard Together, but I dont think its cheesey at all. Its perfectly well-produced Corstenesque. The thing that might be misleading though, is that the beat is slightly soft and the lead melody is ultra-uplifting I assume this is his next single under System F? Well I sure hope theres a hard remix.

Posted by DJ_Skaya on Jan-29-2003 04:10:

I was not a fan of Solstice, it just isn't the old Fresh sounding quality producing I'm used to hearing from Ferry.

Now that I think about it, that Japan theory makes a lot of sense, because I have a little bro who watches a lot of Anime and Solstice sounds like one of those sappy over emotional songs that Anime directors like to use for their themes songs.

Anyways, I'd like to check out the rest of this album. Solstice wasn't my style, but most catchy melodic stuff I tend to like.

It's alright, nothing to cream your pants over. You can definately tell that this album is an attempt to reach out to the Japanese market. I don't think I would buy it, even if it was released in the western market.

good cheese is something like Riva - Time is a Healer (AvB Mix)....this song is like eurodance! horrible vocal sample...super chessey opening 2 minutes...main melodic synth is OK, something I'd expect from Sylver or Ian van Dahl...

cmon is this a joke!!???

Posted by Asperge on Jan-29-2003 17:16:

still I think this tune is good!

Posted by davinox on Jan-29-2003 21:23:

would like a full/extended mix of this.

Posted by Devbert on Jan-29-2003 21:30:

Riva - Time Is The Healer (AvB Remix) is getting called cheese???

If you think that's cheese then you have the worst taste in trance known to man. That version of time is the healer was probably one of the best trance tracks of the year. You must be a progressive fan or delerious to call that cheese.

Posted by tranceaddikt143 on Jan-29-2003 22:22:

I like this tune! Has potential to turn into massively overplayed commercial cheese though.

Posted by Elmo-On-XTC on Jan-29-2003 23:43:

good trance is stuff like MIKE Vs John OO Flemming - Ice Cream or Midway - Inca (just to name some more recent traxx)...to me cheese trance is basically anthems...vocals can sometimes make the some cheesey (it depends what they say "love is a stranger, put the hurt behind you brake the chains that bind you" <-- c'mon love is a stranger, wtf)

not to mention im sick of Ferry Corstens tracks anyways, they're always sequenced the exact same...

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Jan-30-2003 00:20:

HEY guess what

I think this is an awesome tune.. sounds very similar to out of the blue

all you haters out there

SHUT

THE

FUCK

I LOVE CHEESE .. HAVE RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO DO

ASSHOLES

If your going to dis cheeese state a reasone WHY! you dont like teh song.. then again.. dont call it cheese. cheese is made from milk.. not synths galore... so get a reson or GET A LIFE

L33T lamers.. you guys are cluttering forums with useless comments with no basis

Posted by Elmo-On-XTC on Jan-30-2003 00:39:

this is becoming a flame war lol

cheese lover should respect Prog Heads then....
anyways...

i never said cheese sucks...notice how i said Riva was GOOD cheese...
i just think this song is bad cheese. Together is something i would expect to hear on the radio or in some all ages eurodance club.

but whatever, let the cheese wars continue...

People can rag on Ferry Corsten as much as they want, I still love the guy to death.

Sure he's not as innovative as Armin van Buuren, nor is he as diverse as Tiesto, but he has an amazing style that a lot of people appreciate. I love epic trance, and I thought Gouryella - Ligaya had amazing production, especially the breakdown.

And as for the lyrics of "Riva - Time is the Healer (AvB Remix)", they may be a little odd but I don't think they are cheesy. Castles in the sky is cheesy.

I respect Progressive, I just don't like it. I find it very boring. Just my opinion. I understand why people like it, I just don't enjoy it very much. Same for you and "cheesy" trance. The difference is, I don't say Progressive is shit, I just say I don't get it.

all anthems qualify as cheese? tha fuck kinda logic is this? so you're saying rank 1 - airwave which is an "anthem" is cheese? And u say ferry tracks sound the same? PVD traxx sounds the same. Dumonde tracks sound the same. who tha fuck cares?

oh yeah...and prog sux
