lost a friend recently...
I too have lost a friend recently. I am only in high school right now and so were the kids that died. it happened January 21st, they were out late driving on the frozen lake, when suddenly there car slipped in a large unfrozen hole in the lake. it happened to be one of the coldest nights of the year so far, a windchill of -25. he and his girlfriend were together in the car. he helped her out of the freezing lake onto the ice before he drowned. she had by far a much worse death. she walked/crawled across the lake for 200 yards towards shore with only 100 left to go. she froze to death before reaching the safety of a close by lakeshore home. i saw him the afternoon before he passed away, running around the halls with his banjo he recently got by trading in a saxophone. they had been going out for slightly over a year.
R.I.P. Evan Wilson, keep on strumming your banjo, you hardly knew how to play, now you have eternity to practice...
R.I.P. Jackie Fricke you and Evan can be together forever...

im so sorry
i got goose bumps!!!
that is some crazy shit..im sorry for your loss
i lost a good buddy of mine on jan9 2003...im still sad and its hard bro
take care..and be strong
god bless them and their families who are struggling right now
If I can get all of us to agree on something. I pose to dedicate Eyal Barkan - Last Man In The Universe to our lost ones. So that Swamper can maybe re-post it for that reason. I choose this song mainly because of the lyrics. If you agree with me, can you please reply with just a yes or just something that lets everyone know.
Thank you.

thanks for your support guys, it hurts, im just so shocked still. evan was only 16 and jackie was 17. so young... they can't experience life like it is supposed to be now. JohnSmith, that poem is very touching, i feel your pain to, i feel for you people that have lost a friend or loved one. lets enjoy life to its fullest, you never now when it might end.
Those Kids were My age...
I wish things like this would never happen, especially not to two young individuals Who were most likely wonderful people with lots of love in their lives. The thought of that couple being me and my girl makes me shudder
I'm so sorry for you, and the many other lives these two have touched. I hope their next life has a happier ending
OMG, that's so terrible...
at least they can rest together with the angels now
sorry to hear that...
Im really sorry to hear that. It's so tragic how lives can suddently come to an end. We don't realize what we have until we lose it.
Thats terrible and your mates a hero for putting his girlfriend first.
RIP
But I have one question:-
What the hell were they doing DRIVING on a FROZEN lake?????

no one really knows what they were doing on the lake. but i heard he was over at her house before they went out, and her parents tried to stop them from going but they went anyways. the parents didnt know what happened to them throughout the night and were scared the whole time. although by morning they realized the horrible truth. a construction worker going to work on a house by the shore looked out at the lake and saw something. he went to find out what it was, he found jackie's frozen body. god its so horrible how she died. but at least he died thinking he saved her life...
um driving on a lake with ONLY a windchill of 32 = NOT VERY SMART
he shouldn't of been allowed to have babies

Stevek :*************(
When you walk through a storm
hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.
