Although now I need a Audigy 2 and Creative Megaworks speaker set to get the full atmosphere of it all

Finally. I've had the BETA for around 2 years or so and been messin' around with that and they kept pushing the release date foreward. I have the full version of it now, thank God for broadband.

great game but i see more loading than actually playing the game. A++ gfx and sound. load screen pop ups too much

Posted by mega_pudas on Feb-09-2003 14:52:

I know what youre talking about yujie__.. first the loading, then "stand by" and last "intialz" very boring

Posted by CygnusX on Feb-11-2003 17:55:

Nice graphics, but the game itself is way too short.
I completed it in about 10 hours, a friend of mine did it in 5 hours.
Thank god we didn't buy it

Posted by mndeg on Feb-12-2003 00:59:

i'll never buy a single player game

unless its freelancer

This game was the biggest disappointment in PC gaming history as far as I'm concerned. I never buy games anymore, rather I take the route must of you have stated. I played the beta nearly 2 years ago and it was nice. Then of course I see the warez version pop a while back up but I told myself this is one game I'm going to buy and support. The one time I decide to plunk down 50 bucks the game turns out to be pure asscorn. If this all sounds crazy to you, then you must not have been a hardcore fan of the first Unreal. Unreal 2 is a disgrace to the Unreal franchise. Why? Because Digital Extremes had nothing to do with it. Rather a company of rapists called Legend took this game and destroyed it beyond all belief. The game is short, the graphic engine ok but not ground breaking like it should have been, the weaspons are dull, the RPG character interaction is lame and takes away from that lost immersive feeling being on an alien world the first Unreal had. The music is poopy loops banged forth on a Casio. I'm happy for those that like this game but my copy went up on Ebay about 3 hours after I installed it. I threw away the receipt when I bought it because I thought there was no way in hell it was not going to blow everything away. It was my mistake to have expectations. Never again. Now I just can't wait for Doom III.

best graphics and sound but no replay value and so short. it took me one week between school-trance-this

Posted by AussieTrance on Feb-18-2003 04:22:

Game is far too linear, graphics and weapons are pretty sweet, but the actual gameplay is rather easy, and boring. Was the same with 2003.

Original UT is still the best Unreal game made.

I agree man. The developers or unreal 2 totally killed the storiline original unreal was great the atmosphere was the best thing about it, being alone on an alien planet, you never knew what you are going to do next. Now in Unreal 2 there is hardly anny atmosphere, you know whats going to happen cause the storiline is so predictable. The graphic are great but thats about it man. And the voice acting sucks major ass, it seems to me that Producers are lately putting too much time and money into great graphic and than the storiline and gameplay suffrers. So few new games that have realy interesting and unpredictable storiline. it's sad.

PS: I cant wait for it either but I think that Doom III is going to disapoint too, but I hope it wont ...Pleeeeees have some good sence and dont let the graphic be the only good thing about it.

Posted by pnuemo on Feb-19-2003 02:36:

serious... playing it more, not to thrilled about this game... single-player games just aren't fun at all.

Posted by FennecTheFox on Mar-02-2003 22:47:

Hmm, I played this game for about an hour and a half, and found myself
thoroughly bored.

Great graphics - just didn't offer enough to keep me interested.
