Most famous non-producing DJ?
I was wondering...
As far as I know almost every top-DJ makes their own music...Tisto, Oakie, PvD, AvB and so on and so forth...
A lot of crappy DJ's also get gigs at major events only because they have made a bunch of more or less cheesy trance anthems...(No names mentioned *cough* DJ Jean *cough*
)
It gives me the feeling that you more or less need to get a few VERY decent tracks released to get out in to the "big leagues"...
Am I right? Who is the most talanted, and most well known non-producing DJ? The only one I can think of is Judge Jules, but I don't know...it is possible that he has produced something that I don't know of..

Jules has produced under names such as
Hi-Gate (with Paul Masterson)
Clergy (also with Paul Masterson)
Angelic (with darrane tate and also his wife as vocals iirc)
Don't forget vocalist Jina!
We have her to thank for the wonderful vocals in the hit song "Pitchin(in every direction)"

Matt Hardwick produces.
Fusion Feat Matt Hardwick - Spectrum
Fusion Feat Matt Hardwick - resistance
like tiesto said in one of his interview is that you have to develope your own music which is basically your own style.I beleive djs would love to develope their own tracks and share it with the crowd wouldn't you ?
ELMO:
Is that Zdenka in your signature? Cause if so, she is always and forever on my top list of most beautifl women.

Steve

| Originally posted by M.A.R.K what do DJ's do at their gigs? they spin records. thats it! it has absolutely nothing to do with producing at all. its about technical skills on the wheels and not their creativity in the producing studio. i have a lot of respect for DJ's that can write good tunes and plays them in their mixes BUT at the same time, i do not discredit those that don't write such good tunes to put in their gigs. based on your logic, scott bond would be some crappy DJ that can only write a few tunes that hardly anyone even knows about. however, that is far from the truth. the man has mad skills and i consider scott bond to be one of the top. his skills are definitely right up there with AvB, PvD and i'm sure he is even better than my favorite, tiesto. |
And also Dj Cross is pretty famous Dj and he doesn't produce.
