What cameras do you recommend for a beginner?
i am taking Photography this semester and was instructed to go out and get a camera.
35mm SLR ... with 50mm fixed lense...
any suggestions?
are auto focus cameras not recommended for beginners?

well i was lookin' at the Canon ELAN 2 and NIKON N65..what do you think?

I like old cameras...my father had a nikon F3...good camera but it was stolen...now i have a pentax K1000...If i had money i would buy a contax N1...it is auto focus but u can use in manual too..
