Orkidea Spinning **TONIGHT** @ Alto Basso (19+)

Yes, he is still in town -- and as a treat to us from Viva Nightclub & Orkidea he will be spinning in an intimate environment tonight @ Alto Basso.

It's located @ 718 College St - just west of Bathurst.

He'll come on sometime after 10:30 and spin for a little bit - just come down and have a drink and enjoy the music. This event is FREE, No cover - just remember its 19+.

The weekend was great, let's make tonight great too.

WOW!

What a great end to an amaizing weekend. There was maybe 30 ppl in the place tonight. Orkidea played for about 2 hours. We chatted, we chilled, we boogied and simply loved every minute of it.

Incredible.

Thanks to Itikia and Swamps for making this a reality.

And a special Thanks to Orkidea for being such a class act and making this weekend one of the most memorable ones of all time! I await your return!

Just got in....
T'was a nice intimate gathering
Made it to the bar at 10:30, where our own DJ LocoMoco was spinning a chill warm-up set. (Thanks for spinning "Saltwater", bro!). TA's that were there: DJ
Styles, Sober24-7, Time2Burn, Infinity High, El Kay Dee, Desidel, Itikia, Swamper, DB & Avro. Iris, Corrine, & Linda helped me balance out the male to female ratio.
Orkidea arrived at 11:30 & threw down some groovy electro tracks! Yes, I said 'electro'- not trance. Everyone was up for it, too. Things got funkier, with more of a world beat to it later on, & then he ended with the new Sunscreem track (< the one token trance tune). Mixing was flawless (would u expect anything else from this master??), & the tunes did not let me down.

Thanks go to Itikia for throwing that together on such short notice, & to Orkidea for giving us one last treat before you leave us. We will miss you!!!!!

just got back; It was amazing! Great way to finish an already unreal weekend I'm all smiles after all this The meetup was great; great vibe, nice bar (drinks were pretty cheap!), overall it was a great night out with the TA's Thanks Itikia and Swamps for organizing this. It was a great idea.

And huge thanks to Orkidea for, like T2B said, making this such a memorable time I eagerly await your return and hope that you return often (or just move here, like we suggested )



Oh, and definately have more of these little "get-togethers".

wells.. it's 4am right now and i just got home after feeling like Frodo Baggins treking thru a slippery icy cold and wet Mordor for over 2 hours equivalent to 3 city blocks back to my house from Finch Ave. all alone in the rainy nite since i missed my last train back uptown ..

big thanks go out to Swamper for giving me a lift to Bathurst Station even tho by the time i got there the station was already closed and i was forced to take 3 blue line 24 hour buses back uptown into the netherealm where Viva is in this horrid winter weather and having to undertake the above..
(thanks anyways Dell, it's the thought that counts!)

no thanks to Orkidea .. who put on such a wickid set and wickid show that it was too good to let up and forced myself to have to stay till the end to soak up whatever beats were left to soak up by a human body..

thanks to Itikia for again making this possible and allowing TA's to share in the experience of something so special..

no thanks to LKD who had to leave early.. but most likely had a MUCH easier time getting home .. !!


so all in all, another memorable night with great TA's as always.. and now u guys know why u hardly see me at TA meetups in downtown Westend clubs.. it's like the equivalent of you guys having to take public transit back into my area (nearby Viva) .. !

Got to hear a few tracks he played on Saturday, but a lot of songs I don't think I would ever have heard otherwise.

Also amazing to see Dj LocoMoco start the night with such a smooth and flowing set. Such a perfect warmup for Orkidea. Wicked job!!!!

sorry was just thinking..DJ Loco Moco last night was on Cloud 12 due to the fact that he got the pleasure of opening up for such a great name

Props to all the TAs that showed up on such notice

props to my folks at home for being all pissed off

al i gotta say is orkidea is such a nice person....initially t was getting late and i couldnt wait any longer for orkidea so i was waiting at the TTC stop outside the club when a 300M stops in front of it and orkidea came out

when i asked him if he remembered me, he said he did with a smile on his face...whether he did or not, i dont care cos he wasnt mean or with his nose in the air...talk about a nice person who is internationally acclaimed, and u have Orkidea there..

anyways...so i couldnt resist, i went back in and stayed for 1/2 hour longer, took our TA pic and left

Kudos to swamps for bearing with my annoying talks..lol..i get a kick outta them..ahahaha

and ithikia..im sure u learned a little bit more bout some techie stuff last night

anyway..lemme not go on too long...this wasnt some huge party to give a review of cos i wasnt there for more than 3 tracks of his set

Thanks Rich! I really appreciate the positive feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I wasn't expecting to spin for so long, but I'm not complaining heheh. The only thing that sucked was that I didn't get to see Orkidea spin for too long, but from what I did hear it was really F'in good. O well, I'm sure he'll be back soon

Hahahah yes I was definitely "cloudwalking" last night =)
It was an honour to open up for Orkidea, not only is he a great DJ but a class act of a person.

I had a lot of fun last night, it was nice to see all the TA's that made it out (the usual suspects, you know who you are ), special thanks goes to itikia for giving me the opportunity to open up for Orkidea.

O one last thing, I need a DJ name, DJ LocoMoco is old, and I don't really use it other than on this msg board so if any of you have some good ideas I'd love to hear them.

That was a great night
First I get to see my boyfriend open up for a well known DJ and then I get to see Orkidea spin in a nice intimate setting like that. We couldn't stay long cuz we had to go to work/school the next day but for what I saw it was amazing

It was nice to see tatgirl, sober_24_7, time2burn, Dj Styles, Itikia and Linda. All the rest I don't really know you yet cuz I�m a lil shy. Hope we can all get to know each other soon!!!

Locomoco, u must be psychic or somethin, heheh. Just before you dropped G&D - Lament (Satoshi dub) I was thinking of that song, and voila! not a minute later I hear it being mixed in

I forgot to give props where props are due! The volume was too low though and I was enjoying soaking up the TA chit chat vibe. But don't worry you blew me at the first time I heard you spin.

As for a new DJ name... Hmmm I kinda liked DJ Loco Moco. But i hear ya that it might be time to change it up. I always say promote your real name. Carlos M for me has the best ring to it.

Thanks Az, yeah I was instructed to keep the volume low so that you guys could chit chat. I think the volume on the monitor speaker was louder than the speakers setup around the place lol.

Yes the cottage experience was a lot of fun, including the ICY getaway haha

RICH, we gotta do that again sometime, maybe this spring/summer???


Thanks for the suggestions on the names, I'm taking all of them into consideration, keep them coming the more I have to choose from the better =)
