hmmmmmmm better go down and buy my bonds singlet and leather pants.

Sweet. Although I can't say I've listened to an Oakenfold set since his 19.06.99 Gatecrasher set (if anyone knows a nice recent set of his, could you please post the tracklisting here?)

Any plans for the rest of Australia? Or like usual, is this gonna be a Melb/Syd only event?

Oakenfold does weekly shows on Party 931. Not sure that would represent what he plays live, but the shows are alright. I havent seen any recent live sets from him around.

Is it going to be a DJ set, live performance or both?

Lately he has been 'performing' live with a band.

I don't think he would in Aus but, I think it was only for the Heineken tour in the US, to please the American masses.

But I think if Oakey can still tear the place down on a good day. However those days are getting few and far between. This was from Beachbop Bloomingdale last year.

01 Junkie XL & Sasha - Beauty Never Fades
02 02 Shmuel Flash - Chilling Moments (Bedrock Vocal Mix)
03 Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
04 DJ Manolo & Gene Therapy - Lament
05 Organica - Wake Up
06 Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Insigma Mix)
07 U2 - Staring At The Sun (Paul Oakenfold rmx)
08 Paris & Sharp - Aphrodite
09 Arrakis - Aira Force (Lemon 8 Remix)
10 Li Kwan - Point Zero
11 William Orbit - Barbers Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix)
12 Paul Oakenfold - Starry Eyed Suprise (Oliver Lieb Remix)
13 Split - Second (Trailer Trash Mix)
14 Flash - The Day After (Perfecto Remix)
15 Three Drives - Carrera 2
16 Space Junk - Evilmoogafooga
17 DJ Tiesto vs Junkie XL - Obsession
18 Groovezone - Eisbaer (Soul Hooligan Mix)
19 CJ Bolland - The Prophet

Awsome set!

Yeah the Beachbop Bloomingdale set is quite acceptable, though it's the most recent set of his that I have....

I'll probably end up going to this, though it depends on ticket prices...

didnt he put 'skip raiders - another day' in that set too? at the same time as adagio for strings?
hehe are u sure he is coming? or will there be a laptop doing a pre-recorded set or tracklist or something
and what u talking about a band? he does some scratching like in limp bizkit or something?

Umm phil, it was a white label

Adagio for Strings/Another Day

it was Adagio with the another day samples over it, you could buy it on vinyl.

I dont care if he does a laptop recording as long as its a mad set.

and i have no idea about the band thing. I think its like with his new tracks.

Posted by escee on Feb-04-2003 13:17:

Posted by Tsunami One on Feb-04-2003 14:41:

i dont think we should mention such great pioneers like oliver lieb in the same thread as cokey.

and if he plays live i think that will be the most funniest thing ive never seen.

lol @ Heineken tour

wtf?

this guy is the meaning of COMMERCIAL-SELL-OUT

I reckon he'll turn out like Captain Amazing off Mystery Men

SUPERSTAR DJ!

Posted by stipsy on Feb-04-2003 16:56:

guys..i know this sounds hard to beleive..but no matter how much people slag him...he ends up suprising everyone with awesome music..

last time i saw him live was in athens in sept 2001...and for me to say it was in my top 3 sets ever must say something!! (trust me..ive been hundreds of sets)

Posted by bassaholix on Feb-04-2003 22:33:

Look the man'z a supa star... he can mix and make music.. be thankfull he has a skill... imagine if he was the unabomber... the scene wouldn't be the same without him

Posted by basshound on Feb-04-2003 22:53:

fark yeah!!!!!

Posted by Tsunami One on Feb-05-2003 01:27:

wtf cokey's got it all wrong he should be sponsered by bonds singlets!

and that "he was great in the past, the scene wouldnt be the same without him, give him respekt" is a poor excuse. the past is the past and ppl should judge him on what he's doing today not yesterday.

oakenfold haters are the epitome of progressive rejects who have about as much of a clue as my left nut.

go download any recent set from oakie in 02/03, whether it be statside live, 93.1 presents, dance department, or other misc events and the majority of them are absolute gold. i suggest this, because you've made it quite apparent that you haven't listened to anything he's done, and have heard the cry of 'ALL ABOARD THE OAKIE HATING BANDWAGON'. but here's the best thing of them all, he's where he is, being able to perform whether it be live/djing, doing something he loves, and is getting paid shitloads to do so.

whereas your stupid punk ass is still stuck working graveyard shifts at the local 7/11, being pushed around by some indian immigrant who takes to your ass with a cane like a baby takes to mothers milk.

fuck i hate groupies
