Price of petrol in iraq. omg!!!!!!!!!!!

I just watched a news report on the situation in iraq. they were talking about petrol prices there. The reporter filled up one of these massive american styled jeeps with 160 litres of petrol.

They reckon petrol is cheaper than water.

In most arab countries petrol is cheaper than water. It's logical, though, they only have huge deserts with lots of petrol but almost no water at all.

this should give you more reason to believe why Iraq is going to get attacked

If Iraq didn't have petrol, neither Bush senior would liberate Kuwait nor Bush jr would attack them now.

damm....i'd pay 3 times that for the same amt of fuel if i could here in the states

I read a report where the 2nd objective of the US is to destabilize severly OPEC. This will happen, because iraqi full blown production can be brought to 7MB/Day (Million Baril) which will flood the market with fuel thus lowering the prices. This move will make the OPEC obsolete because they'll have to lower their prices so they don't loose too much ground to iraqi fuel. They won't be able to control the prices like they do now!

i was curious what petrol prices are around the world...
Here in Melbourne, Australia we're currently paying about $1 a litre, which is about US$1.70.
Myself, i'm fuckin pissed off by these prices as i used to pay 70cents, or so, not too long ago.

none, the arctic ice cap will have no effect on sea levels, it's part of the ocean... it's mountain glaciers, Greenland, & Antartica that you have to worry about more.

it's not part of the ocean, it's ice. when it melts, it expands. that will produce water, lots and lots of water.

and um, no, the ENTIRE arctic ice cap has never melted. but it looks like it will.

How is that stupid? Iraq is a barely habitable wasteland that doesn't have any visually pleasuring sites, that's controlled by one of the most ruthless dictators the world has ever known. If their own citizens could speak freely without being executed they would probably say the same. I pay $1.90 USD for 1 Gallon (supreme/premium unleaded)... Cost me ~ $28 to fill my Blazers tank. Glad I only drive about 20 miles a week.

Its currently 79.9pence, about $1.20!

soo expensive! When Iraq falls or whatever, then the world economy will increase as people will be able to spend less on petrol, thus being able to spend more on other stuff, etc

yeah, i heard that petrol was expensive in england. I'd cry if i had to pay that much for a litre..
the thing is though, in this big arse country it would be normal to go through 80 litres of petrol a week.

Oh, and $1 Austrlian is not US$1.70, it's more like 59cents US. So yeah, you poor brits are paying double what us ozziez are...

Have you been to Iraq? Have you seen the mountains, the desert, the lakes, the fields ... i dont think so becuase i know how Iraq looks like. as well... it is this part of the world that nestled the first civiliazations of Mesopotamia.. it is here where civilization as we know it today was successfully grown. This nation has historical sites that you wouldnt imagine. What history does the US have???? 300 years compared to 8 thousand years...LOL America is the wasteland... geographically and historically.. this nation is much more rich...
