Da, look at the Toronto lineup for March! It's looking like a farkin' UK lineup!

That is a good line up but I've just seen Tiesto (and Armin last year 3 times! Plus he's coming again in April. Ferry and Johan Gielen the same weekend on March). I mean we've had Hardwick, Matt fucking Hardwick here!!! and Orkidea, and 00 Fleming. Only thing we need is PvD on the Friday in April and my year will be DUN!

Well it looks like I'll be hitting this party, not only will I be listening to GREAT music, but I also get to look at some nice cars as well!!! I wont be able to see Armin in the up and coming months, so I have to hit Montreal on this weekend, plus it would be nice for a change of scenery other than Toronto.

Posted by King_Mack on Feb-06-2003 04:12:

Rasta

its a good lineup
but as endlesswave mentioned..itll be a bit repeat cuz of their recent visits. Depending if i got money to burn...i might check it out..hopefully tiesto will give a better show this time

you bastard....you actually got tickets......for the gp that is.....oh well...next year...

Posted by infinity HiGH on Feb-06-2003 06:45:

we had an intimate little gathering with Orkidea and a bunch of TA's...got to talk to him for a bit, joke around, chill, hang out on monday night. All this following an insane Saturday night with him and J00F behind the decks.

I fail to see what the Montreal TA's have to brag about

yeah you are right, recent visits, but don't forget this is a full 4 months from now!

Posted by Time2Burn on Feb-06-2003 07:16:

Chill guys.. This is quite possibly the best Trance Line upin one night Canada has ever seen. Let them bask for a bit.

Shall we organize a huge Ta trip and show em what the TOTA vibe is all about?

I would love too... promises to be a sick party.

Posted by nusty on Feb-06-2003 07:50:

I would love to be there for that. Montreal always seems to get slightly better dj showings (ie teisto there vs here last time)(and vibes on many parts) than Toronto (for drug reasons or otherwise! )
At any rate I have a bunch of my best friends at Mcgill now and would love to have that night to party with them. Montreal has always been good to me in the past.

Posted by E2EK1EL on Feb-06-2003 07:53:

I wouldn't hit this event ... b/c it's in montreal. Even if Tiesto himself, bought me a plane ticket ... still wouldn't go. Why you ask ???

BIG UP THE BLOWSTICK CREW !!!

No biggy deal ... even if there was a crazier line up then this ... won't matter, b/c it's in Montreal and montreal doesn't compaire to Toronto at all.

BIG UP ALL MASSIVE & CREW on MARCH 14th INSIDE the SYSTEM SOUND BAR !!!

is somethin burnin .. ?? uhoh ..

(i don't like where this thread is heading..)

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Feb-06-2003 10:14:

So...let me get this straight.

Tiesto, Guy Ornadel and Armin Van Buuren on the same night at Aria? Or is it Tiesto on Friday, Armin on a Saturday? Goddamnit....the fucking Guvernment better get Tiesto back by the end of the summer or "FUCK IT", I'm going to Montreal to see him! I bet Aria is a much nicer club...Guv/Kool Haus is good but they do not know how to tune a sound system...the fucking bass for Tiesto was waaaaay too fucking loud and I could not distinguish many of the songs because the treble was totally drowned out. I had NO idea he played Flaming June!! FUCK!

Anyway, Montreal seems to be the place for trance these days.

Posted by beatjunkie on Feb-06-2003 13:37:

Actually I have been to Aria a couple times and in my opinion Kool Haus is a MUCH nicer venue. Aria's one thing that sets them apart is their DJ Booth. Other than that they have some light thing that comes down and blinds you, the bench's fell like you are in a horse stable, until you get down in the club it feels like you walking into a basement. I was there for Danny Howells and I bet you half the people there didn't know who he was?? The drug situation is the same as Toronto. They like their speed, and well.... so do I so in small ammounts so right on. Other than that the chicks are sweet, they get better trance DJ's and people are generally nice. I was just at club Stereo in Montreal and that is a nice place! I guess it all depends on what you like. Kool Haus is a much nice venue IMO.

wow, i am going to this for sure!!

any idea when tickets are going on sale?

Lets not turn this into a Aria vs world thread, still I want to voice my opinions. I don't agree with you, because when lesser known djs come to Aria, there's lot less people. If people came only for the drugs, you would have the same amount of people weekend after weekend *cough*Sona*cough*. Which is not the case, believe me I saw some really empty nights. I've been to Aria almost 25-30 times in the past year and true there's lots that take drugs, but some others don't take anything.

I saw pics of koolhause and the club looks very nice indeed. Still we have a different view about what makes a great club in Montreal. Like Stereo, Aria and Sona, the decor is minimal to keep a dark underground feel and to not distract people from the music. For the regulars it is great, but for the tourist like you, eye candy is always nice, but the more often you come, the less you care. still chicks as eye candy is always cool heheh

Back to the topic, those 3 djs will be at Aria at the same time, the party will start at 10 pm and end at 2pm the next day. Anyways guys, why don't you come to the original thread in the MTL forum to have all your answers! http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...&threadid=88546

Posted by Crazy Serb on Feb-06-2003 20:43:

Well, if Biggy could somehow hook us up with a couple of those $35 tix, I might actually check that out... but $50 (plus the admission.com cost) or even worse $65 tix are just too expensive. I'd rather spend my money on Ultra 5 in Miami ($50 US) for 12 hours party with 35,000+ people and 100 world class DJs...

By the way, Biggy man, Aria is too small for an event like that!

And in my opinion Kool Haus is a much nicer (and bigger) venue too... plus they can set it up dark and underground if they wish.

Now that I think about it, why in the world would you want to have a dark and underground atmosphere for Tiesto and Armin, who don't even spin underground music...?

Posted by malek on Feb-06-2003 20:50:

most djs that play aria are techno, house and progressive... the crowds attending those are older and prefer less ligthing. On trance nights, lights are more used with visual jockeys pumping bright animations on the giant screens.

Aria is doing some renovations in the coming week... I'm very eager to see those!!

You know what?
I want to give ahlamalek credit. I read over my post and to some that may have been offensive. I was simply stating my opinion but the guy comes back with a logical view and doesn't flame in return. There are some from the the "other" forum that like to come over here and preach, but ahlamalek keeps it simple.
Sorry if I came across rude there, like I said I guess its what people prefer. I rather enjoy the darker clubs like System myself, just didnt feel Aria. Maybe next time I'll take a closer look.
Cheers
Matt

dude, anytime! you're welcome. And the next time you come, I'll personnally make it worthwhile for ya! How about Howells/Seb Fontaine/Luke Fair on the 14th of this month for the progwh0re in ya

About the 1800 people limit at Aria, think about this, you'll have only real trance fans like you people, because they bought their tickets in advance. There should be no tickets at the door, keeping out the cracked out asians 40+yrs old (not that we have any). The club will be perfectly full, the vibe will be top notch. Also, you'll be glad to know, by June, Aria will have opened its 3rd room with alcohol. Biggy told me it would look very nice! If I remeber right, Ornadel will spin there, then at 3am, people will move to the main room with Tiesto/Armin. Also in the coming week we have renovations planned with some upgrades to the sound/light system, decor and to the couches...
