SubWoofer

Hey all just quick question
Wots the best position for a subwoofer
Head height or on the ground?

Posted by Blik on Feb-05-2003 22:13:

ground I think

is this a computer subwoofer or a home entertainment system subwoofer? For my computer sub, I have it on the ground, pointing against the wall (in the corner). I think that's the best way to get it to vibrate throughout the room. I"m not sure though

Hmmm against the wall?
Well its a computer sound system,
I only ask cos at the mo i have it at head height and it seems to give massive amounts of bass no matter how hi or low i adjust it?

SUB woofer

Sub means low frequency

you can't HEAR low frequencies, just feel them

So subwoofers should be placed on the floor, pref in the corner of your room

Excellent
I'll give that shot so

A subwoofer can be placed everywhere. This because a sub produces low-frecuency's that we can't locate from where their coming.

But there are some things that are diffrent. When you are using a Home-Theatre set the sub must stand between to 1 of the front speakers and the TV.

When you are just using a 2.1 system, it can be placed everywhere.

btw the "magic" frequency lies somewhere between 27 and 33 Hz, so if you have subs under the bed...

mwahahahahah
i actually would love to try that

I've been told it is 33Hz, nothing lower, as there would be less feeling. Max Power or Fastcar Magazine tested this out in one of there cars and it was, ummm, succesfful to say the least!

I have Klipsch ProMedia 5.1s and my sub is placed on a table at about knee height in the corner of my room...sounds good where it's at.

Do you mean the height of the subwoofer itself? Fool around with the audio controls in your OS or sound manager...

By the way mine is at the corner of the room pointing 45 degrees from each wall next to it. Sounds fine.

Close to a wall or a corner and as far away as possible...
