Christopher Lawrence

I don't see this name or d:fuse on this site much at all

what are you thoughts on these 2?

Posted by NooKLeaR on Feb-07-2003 01:25:

I really like Christophe Lawrence. His style is real unique and quality. I love it. As for D:Fuse, I haven't heard too much of his stuff...

D:Fuse and Christopher Lawrence are among my favorite DJs. They both place in my top ten, although I haven't heard as much from D:Fuse lately.

I think christopher lawrence is sweet as hell.

use to like christopher lawrence and his dirty trance

but recently his new album stunk major ass(around the world)
seems like the dirty ugly dull tek trance isnt appreciated by many people anymore...not by me anymore hehe

If im not mistaken they usually Spin in the US right

D:Fuse is one of my favourite djs, maybe around 3rd on my list. Christopher lawerence is pretty good too, but i like D-Fuse's stuff more. I got most of his cds, the perfecto cds are pretty good same with psychotrance. He came here once before and didnt get a very good turnout, i didnt hear of his arrival to town after a few days after the party

I will always love CL. His style was the first live instances of trance I ever heard. So he will always be someone I'll go see.

As for his latest productions/or CDs, not my style. Getting very very prog, and a touch of commercial. I did like the ambient breaks/trance tracks included, but I'm just not 100% into prog yet.

D:Fuse was very dissapointing the last time I saw him. It was probably the venue, since it was a raver crack-house of a club, but still very minimalistic and bland.

All in all, I have faith in the US DJ scene. WE have lots of talent, but always seem to compare them to European DJs.

I'm not a big fan of Christopher Lawrence, I personally don't like his style and still to this day wonder why he gets the vote for the best American DJ. D:Fuse, however, is kick ass. I've seen him twice and loved both times. Definately one of my favorite American DJ's, and I'm not even a prog fan.

peace,

Steve

I like his older productions on the Hook label, very much along the lines of the older Chris Cowie productions. "Rush Hour" and "Interceptor" are two excellent productions from him.

I'm with Speedracer. I liked Christopher's older stuff but his new stuff has kind of sucked major ass. I've seen him probably 5 times as he comes here to Seattle quite often and the last couple of times I've seen him its been a real sleeper. He is however a very nice guy. The last time I saw him, after his gig he was out mingling with the crowd, drinking a drink and hanging out like it was no big deal and that I thought was really cool. I've seen DFuse a couple of times and its never been anything spectacular either. I do know the ladies love him with his physique and him wearing that cowboy hat though.

Yeah Christopher Lawrence and D:Fuse both go in my top DJ and producer list. I don't think Around the World was that bad, in fact I quite liked it. D:Fuse is pretty cool. Has anyone heard his latest mix cd 'People'?

Posted by trippennuts on Feb-07-2003 18:19:

Lets see, I live in the same city that D:Fuse used to live in. If i was anything into his music, i would like him. But I hate his style. So basically i dont like him. I do enjoy christopher lawrence, sometimes. The first of all of his cd's useually suck, the 2nd halfs are useually good. His new tune, Octobers child is fantastic. You should all check it out, im canning it

peace

I like Christopher Lawrence quite a bit. His older stuff is top notch. I saw him in September and he only played tracks from a couple year back, it was great. I really like that style of trance since it reminds me of the good ol' days. Even though I wasn't listening to trance during it's heyday, that's mostly the era I try to collect 'cause the tracks are so damn good.

Posted by Raptor on Feb-07-2003 21:11:

Never liked his style despite the fact that he was at almost every event. That i have went to back in the days. I wouldn't even stick my head in the room to listen to him for a second, unless i am required to walk through the room.

i like D:Fuse's productions aka she rides and everything with you, but chris lawerence just sucks. he gives the US a bad name.

Posted by fr0st on Feb-08-2003 07:05:

my bad, hybrid IS UK. but we still got the others.

Posted by 24K on Feb-08-2003 07:14:

I've only seen Lawrence once,,, and he was good. Not amazing but very solid. One thing I did like was that he played a lot of differnt variety in his set and his mixing was also very good. He's also a super nice guy and when I was talking with him after his set he signed one of his records and gave it to me. So because he was such a nice guy I'll probably go to see him whenever I get the chance.
