Is Urban Train by Tiesto the one with the vocals or Suburban Train...

And also do the vocals ruin the song, cause i wanna get this song on vinyl but i really like the dub.

Posted by jc on Feb-08-2003 03:43:

urban train = vocals
suburban train = dub

Posted by Psygnosis on Feb-08-2003 03:46:

Well my mate wants to sell me the Urbain Train on vinyl, but ive only heard the dub.

I mean do the vocals remove the excitement from the song or not.

Posted by Lira on Feb-08-2003 05:16:

No, they don't remove anything

Posted by fastmp3 on Feb-08-2003 05:42:

the vocals are terrible they ruined the song , so go ahead and buy the vinyl

Posted by elena on Feb-08-2003 06:09:

i think you'll find the 'REAL' original is Kid Vicious - Re-Form
tiesto pretty much just ripped it off and called it (sub)urban train.

Not really

It looks allot like the Tiesto Remix of Reform

After that Remix was finished Tiesto and Kid had the idea to work together on a new track. They basically took all their ideas from Reform and created what has to be one of the biggest trance anthems in history.

Posted by 24K on Feb-08-2003 11:45:

^^^ I agree. Suburban Train has to be one my favorite trance tracks of all time,,, it will NEVER leave my case and I've been playing the shit outta it down here in China

Not really.

After that Remix was finished Tiesto started on urban train. then he phoned kid vicious and said he needed to speak to him cos he had a track that sounded a lot like re-form. they ended up calling it a collaboration, but only cos kid vicious was left little choice..

Posted by futurevision on Feb-08-2003 12:13:

ok
tiesto's original track is called suburban train
there are two remixes of "suburban train" on the vinyl
A1 = original
B1 = and way out west

there is also another vinyl available which already mensioned
with vocals this is remixed by marc o tools
which he calls it "URBAN train"

A1 = Urban Train ft. Kirsty Hawkshaw (Marc O Tool Main Mix)
b1 = Urban Train (Marc O Tool Instrumental)

I prefer the original no vocals....

Posted by Psygnosis on Feb-08-2003 12:26:

Dj champs...this vinyl has Urban Train on one side and the Cosmic Gate Remix on the Other...

If Urban train sounds like Suburban Train then ill buy it.

Posted by noonboy on Feb-08-2003 13:00:

according to my "sub-urban/urban train" CDM, urban train is a more relaxed prog tune that hasn't got much to do with the sub-urban one.

so i think u sould ask ur pal for a sample rip first...

My advice would be to grab the In My Memory ltd. edition vinyl...

You get the original mixes of Magik Journey,,, Lethal Industry,,, Suburban Train,,, Flight 643,,, etc.

Can't go wrong there

erm..... i thought it was the other way round?/

urban train = dub
suburban train = vocals

either way..... the vocals absolutely destroyed every shred of credibility that the dub created, what a waste.

and dont get me started on flight 643 (loves on fire) ..... damn tiesto your great at being crap..... or crap at being great

wouldn't agree with u there...since both the Cosmic Gate & Wippenberg remixes of the tune have the vocals in them..and they are the best remixes of it IMO the vocals help the track to be what it is

Posted by undertensecond on Feb-08-2003 14:42:

both are excellent!

Posted by arj1o1 on Feb-08-2003 14:50:

suburbain have the vocals i believe

yeah thats what i thought man.. i was hearing the vocalless version way wayyyy before i heard the shitty vocal version, cos it was an ultimate gatecrasher anthem.... and it was called urban train back then. then when it started being put on cds last year or when ever it was its been called SUBurban train

CG mix dont have vocals on it does it?.... erm i dont think it does anyways

Posted by SlinkySkev on Feb-08-2003 20:21:

It has the vocals "Urban.....Train" faintly in it.

Posted by shao on Feb-08-2003 21:26:

I always thought... that urban train was the vocal one, because in the cosmic gate remix... she says "urban train" and NOT "suburban train"... just my take. However if my theory is true, then that means my copy of urban train original mix is mislabeled... >_<

Posted by kurai on Feb-08-2003 21:27:

There are 4 releases for this!

Blackhole 2x12" (Holland)

Suburban Train - Original Mix
Suburban Train - Way Out West Remix
Urban Train - Marc O Tool Main Mix
Suburban Train - Marc O Tool Instrumental

VC Records (UK)

Suburban Train - Original Mix
Urban Train - Marc O Tool Main Mix

VC Records Remixes (UK)

Suburban Train - Way Out West Remix
Suburban Train - Marc O Tool Instrumental

Dos Or Die (Germany)

Urban Train - Original Mix
Flight 643 - Original Mix

Dos Or Die Remixes (Germany)

Urban Train - Cosmic Gate Remix
Urban Train - Wippenberg Remix

And yes, Urban Train = Vocals, Suburban Train = Dub!

Posted by Rakoon on Feb-08-2003 21:38:

No, Suburban has no vocals and Urban does. I know this because I have the actual In My Memory US retail CD and it has Suburban Train on it and it doesnt have vocals.

Well thats because thats the original one-sided White Label that all the DJ's got. Later when it was to be released, Tiesto made Urban have vocals and Suburban not.
