KPMG(an international consultant) has in order by ID&T studied the economic meaning of dance in Holland. According to this study dance music plays a significant role in the Dutch economy.
In ten years of time the Dutch dancescene has grown up to a professional business with more then 11.000 jobs and an estimated turnover of more then 500 million Euro.
ID&T is market leader with 60%. ID&T organise (large) parties and they have their own record label, a radio station, a magazine, and other dance related activities. This focus on all commercial aspects of the dance scene results in a turnover of more than 30 million Euro in 2002. Recently the company downsized their staff from 62 to 42 in an effort to optimize their operations.
In Holland 50% of the 4.6 million youngsters between the 15 and 35 years old is interested in dance music. Approximately 750.000 people visit a big dance event every year. The annual turnover for these events is 85 million Euro. The biggest event is Dance Valley with 45.000 visitors. Next to Dance Valley there are 16 other events that attract more then 15.000 people. Remarkable detail in the study is that the health problems that are related to drug abuse has dropped below 0.9 percent of the party-visitors.
In 2001 dance cd's raised up 38.9 million Euro. There are more then 150 recordstores specialised in dance music, 81 danceclubs and around 300 professional DJ's in Holland.
The Dutch dance industry can be seen as a potentially profitable sector, but there's a lot of competition

Sj�lvklart, i Holland har man juh f�r l�nge sedan fattat vad harm-reduction �r f�r n�got.

Droger �r som farligast n�r man inte vet vad det egentligen �r och hur man ska anv�nda dem.

Sverige kommer nog ikapp...efter att n�gra tusen heroin missbrukare till har d�tt, men det �r juh en f�rlust man kan ta, det �r juh bara �ckliga knarkare,

suck, om inte alla svenskar vore s� j�vla tr�ngsynta..m�ste faktiskt h�lla med ryssen till viss del
