Having said that, let's continue... Many people use this app, so I thought why not share this news (well it's news for me anyways )

It seems as though "Sapphirecut" has filed a complaint against Verio, the soulseek server host. "Sapphirecut" complained about her/his/their files being shared, and that's why the servers have been down...
Oh well..

That's a shame since I actually kinda like Sapphirecut and have PURCHASED records AFTER first listening to the mp3s. I suspect a lot of people are just like me and almost always DL the mp3 first before buying. This move by Sapphirecut practically ensures I won't buy anything from them. Artists, particularily electronic artists, should realize that at least partially it's through the spread of their mp3s that they gain fame, popularity, and ultimately commercial success.

And I actually remember getting a message from Soulseek admin aimed at people sharing Sapphirecut's files (all 5 of them) to delete them since Sapphirecut complained about it... geez, what a hell are they being dicks for?! I guess I will never play their 2 records that I purchased recently, ever again! As a matter of fact, I am gonna sell them right now, get my money back!

soulseek is just looking for a new host. Once they find that, it will be open again you should all drop by the ta chatroom they have there!(soulseek) good chat! lots of nice people discussing new music and of course just general chat :P hope to see you there when soulseek opens again
