Sticky Event Thread Needed!

Some of the other forums have one and it works really well. We really need a sticky thread here with all the main events, DJs and dates posted and regularly updated. Anyone up for taking charge of this? I for one could really use this to help plan my weekends coming home...

I think there should be a monthly sticky.....same idea as what Desidel has been doing with the "master list" but on a monthly basis.

Actually, if you look at the Montreal or New York forums, they have one for each season and keep updating the first post that has all the events listed. This way you have a few month outlook at a time. I'm not in Toronto right now otherwise I'd do this myself. Anyone up for it?

Just seems like people could use it as every now and then people are surprised that a certain DJ was in town and they didn't hear about it, etc.

i asked Swamper about this already. He's hoping to encourage local promoters, having them put the TA logo on their flyers for a sticky event thread. and i think by making my list sticky that might impede this .. i kind have to agree as he does have a point ..

Hmmm. Swamper, if that's true, then I can understand, but I would still suggest you reconsider making a sticky thread listing all events. If promoters put a logo on their flyers, then you could give them a whole separate sticky thread for the event and the event posted on the front page.

I guess I for one wouldn't want to see the desire to promote TA start taking away from things that made it so great to begin with. A sticky thread listing all events would be useful to TA's and contribute to the scene IMHO. And TA's enthusiasm for the site is the best promoter of all!

Plus, even if promoters put the logo on their flyers, it's not like you can have a sticky hanging around for months, whereas a thread like Desidel's could help plan things long-term.

Just my two cents (and that is U.S. cents, worth a couple of hundred CDN, lol)

actually he does this already .. ie. with the Destiny event..

I realize that, and all I'm saying is that he can continue doing that only for those who put a logo on the flyer, but in the meantime let us have a sticky event thread for our use (screw the promoters, I want this for us).

i guess he just figures that some promoters will get lazy if we list their events in a thread for them ..

me thinks if TA gets to the point where it operates like the Tribe boards, then we might see a sticky event thread.. till then .. it's Swamps call !
