Global Gathering 2003!
Superb!
Global Gathering gets go ahead
A major dance festival in Warwickshire has been given the go-ahead by licensing officials for later this year.
Organisers of Global Gathering, an all-night dance festival staged by Birmingham superclub Godskitchen, have been granted a public entertainment licence for the event on July 26 and July 27.
Last years event attracted 35,000 revellers and top dance DJs to Long Marston Airfield, near Stratford, but local residents complained about major congestion and parking problems around the site.
The road between Stratford and the airfield was jammed from early Saturday afternoon to the evening, and again on Sunday morning as people left.
It will be the third time the event has been held at the airfield.
Paul Reid, senior licensing officer at Stratford District Council, said the organisers of the 36-hour party were granted the licence after nearly six hours of detailed discussions.
He said: Last year there were various problems with traffic management, parking, noise and signage but the organisers submitted a very detailed plan for this years event.
Their traffic plan has been drastically updated and reviewed, so should be more than adequate to keep any problems to a minimum.
At the event last year, there were eight arrests and 14 people were taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment. Seven of those were for drug-related illnesses but they were not life-threatening.

oh good! well our coach came late, and drove at like a piffling 50mph or something, so we got there for about 5 dammit! And at least i'll remember where i parked the car AND we can have a little afterparty around it as well!
It was a wicked event the last one, definatly up for this years. Only problems with last year not only the walk with the lying bastard who said to us its only a half an hour walk to the train station haha, also the amount of scallies took the fucking piss, I know this sounds semi stupid right but I reckon they should even enforce some kind of dresscode, i.e no ******s in burberry caps, and kappa tracksuits, cos there was 1000s of them, and I saw trouble and heard there was even more trouble, ****s like that don't deserve to go to the big events. Mind you on a good note the whole event was wicked, apart from the wankers who let it down.
Apparently the line up is amazing!
and i hear that a Carl Cox arena will be present! ( sorry Gatecrasher
)
As far as the traffic problem goes, the solution is simple! Get there early and mess around in the car park. If there are a few of you it's a good laugh. Also put some beers, smokes etc aside for afterwards too. If it;s a nice day, why not sit and sun bathe, drink beer and have a natter with a large group of mates, instead of queueing for 3 hours in a hot stuff car to get out! We stayed till 11 last year and it took us 5 mins to get out, tho admittadly i spent most of the 4 hours trying to piss!!
yeh tbh we did hit rush hour in traffic queues as it had already started when we actually decided to go! we bought our tickets at about 4 or 5 then left at 7...
I got there 2 hours early, chilled on the grass outside, and we formed a que, right at the front
its all about gettin a coach
which foriegners are coming this year??
