First major gig with people rollin

i've been djing for a little over a year and i've played 3 or 4 gigs before but i am throwing a bigger one and this time i am expecting around 50 to 70 people. There is gonna be lots of alcohol and bud but thats not what i am concerned about. Waht kind of music should i be playing because there is a group of about 15 to 20 guys that are either gonna be rollin on X or trippin on shrooms at the party. Right now i am have songs like perpetual dreamer-the sound of goodbye and some thrillseekers stuff in there and then i am move of to some harder stuff like Joy Kitikonti-Joyenergizer about an hour later. Is it ok to play music with alot of breakdowns and have a few songs that are vocal and then move up to somthing really hard for about 30 minutes when people are rollin? i am only spinning a 2 hour set then i am throwing in some Tiesto or Sasha essential mixes for the rest of the night. I've never rolled before so i don't know what sounds cool and what not when your rollin. Any adivce would help.

Ok.

Basically, go slow on the first 30mins of your set. at the 20mth mark start to build up with perpetual dream and tiesto music likes. Coz u see, hehehe it takes about 30mins for the trippin effect to come. so when u start pickin up on the 30min mark the trippers will love it ... about the 60min mark .. PLAY BIG tunes. bang all your nicest tunes u have. then slowly come down and pick up again .. and down again every 15mins.

im not a dj yet .. still waiting to get my equipments. but i know hell this will DEFINATELy work .. not only for the trippers.. but also for the normal crowd. try to start with some nice long basslines something like ... sasha and junkie's beauty never fades then work your way up.

this my friend, will guarentee a definately good set. try to end your set with a really wicked hard track. that will make them want more.

i was the last dj to play so i knew people were high
right from the start i played pounding hard house and nu-nrg with no relent
the crowd went nuts

it all depends on what your timeslot is
seeing as how i was the last dj of the night (i played at 9am)
i figured the peeps would need something hard and fast to keep going
no time for building a set, they need pounding tunes fast
and i delivered

it's a small afterhours club here in calgary that i played at
there were about 150 people still left, not much, but they all went off and loved my set

They're still there (at least, over here in Holland they are...)

why the hell cant they just leave it alone? they aren't helping anything... its not like people are gonna do less drugs just because they have to do them elsewhere. hehe.. der.
